Am I the only one who thought they overdid the memo that said to hype Matt Brown? Silva had zero poise, staggered around for ten minutes offering no defense, threw himself into half a dozen submissions that Brown couldn't close.....I don't know.

No but we have been saying that about brown forever though (see him being underdog tonight). I don't think he deserves a title shot or anything yet. But yeah Silva has zero head movement and still hasn't beaten anyone that great. I don't know if he will ever be the same after that either tbh

Brown fun as hell to watch so ill watch him v anyone. Honestly though this fight could have been prematurely stopped after that body kick then a few blows there. Worst stoppages have happened surely

What the hell are they talking about with this "next title shot" business? Woodley, MacDonald, Lawler, (a healthy) Condit, Ellenberger and maybe Lombard (he might quit too though) are still significant favorites over him in my view.

I was just hoping that it wasn't stopped in first round because they both looked dead and I was curious about how the following rounds would go. There was definitely a stoppage somewhere among those first 2 rounds. Silva was totally out of it and just trying to run away.

It was almost like Silva didn't even notice he'd hurt him, or else was so gassed he was just happy to have a break.

Personally I think they knew that Brown looks great when he can make someone wilt, and they'd seen Silva fold before against better guys. Good matchmaking in a way. But Silva's hype was purely a product of the Zuffa push. You're supposed to get a main event against a fringe top ten guy after you BEAT a guy like Kim, not after you fold against him.

I agree that I'd watch Brown against anyone, and would've really liked to see him against Condit (although I think Condit submits him). Lombard seems like the guy to me (or maybe throw Thaigo Alves back into a big fight?)

hey look people are already picking against brown for whoever he fights next!

I'll probably pick against Soa too when he gets HIS first top ten opponent. Comparable winning streaks IMO.

Silva is Brown's best win and he's a parade horse.

Gotta love brown either way, but sadly, he's just not champion material :-(

I thought Silva looked worse than Brown did good. And Brown looked fairly good.

Brown has all the intangibles of being really tough, active, good pace, well-rounded, etc. But he just doesn't have a lot of special skills, but I just don't see anything technically that would make him a top fighter. He's good but not great in basically everything - striking, wrestling, BJJ. I feel like he'd give the top guys in the division good scraps but ultimately lose to all of them.

He's definitely distanced himself from the mediocre journeymen though. His best attribute is just his swarming/pressure style and his mental toughness. Silva looked HORRIBLE in this fight. Never had an ounce of gas after the first couple minutes, looked mentally broken. I was pretty disappointed in his performance.

Pretty much agree. Was a great fight, but Silva just doesnt impress me at all (might be biased, only saw him yesterday and with Fitch). Brown seems like a fringe top 10 guy, I think he gets beaten by all of Hendricks/Lawler/Rory/Condit/Woodley/Lombar decisively

so much for bellators PPV alvarez/chandler III off the card due to alvarez getting a concussion. however they still gonna go on to try and make this a PPV buy still with rampage/king mo the main event...i for 1 will not be buying. I could see buying for the alvarez/chandler 3 bout, but not this lame rampage king mo crap.

Varner has a broken foot by the looks of things.

Honestly thought he was trying to throw the fight after he had an incident in middle of the cage by himself.

That was just horrible to watch. I was almost expecting the bone to poke through at some point in time when he was standing and putting his weight on it badly.

2nd round looked close, maybe a tie.

TJ's round again. Not sure if Renan can win this on points, he might need to KO/submit TJ to win.

I got it 30-27 Dillashaw, bad decision to go for the TD at the end of that round though

Not sure about 30-27. Round 2 was a close one, looked like a tie or Renan slightly edged it.
