She walked straight out after the announcement and Nunes chased her down to try to shake her hand but she just kept walking. No interview.

Only one person from Ronda's team shook Nunes hand and Nunes had to grab him by the shoulder and turn him around.

Dominance is what sells more than anything then charisma/ego. MMA doesn't have anyone to fill the first role atm (khabib keeps getting hurt and doesn't have the belt and he doesn't have any of the last part either), so conor's gonna be the only draw for awhile.

I hate it when they interview the losers, poker/mma/whatever. It's cringeworthy most of the time anyway. (especially when they got KO'd, that has to stop)

yeah Rogan said a few months ago he doesn't think they should interview after KO's

Not on the broadcast but it was caught on camera that Amanda hugged Ronda.

https://twitter.com/Jon__Bradley/sta...72449695862785

Mike Goldberg's last show wasn't even acknowledged as he remained professional and just stated the upcoming events, a brief recap of UFC 207 and that was that.

I feel UFC under the WME regime is going to be extremely soulless.

Michael Bisping and Miesha Tate on the post-fight show right now suggesting that Ronda Rousey should retire. She should.

If she doesn't have a strong enough support network around her then she's going to cause herself all sorts of problems.

I'm impressed with Tate on camera...she seems like a seasoned pro.

A good rule for post-fight interviews:

If you can walk out of the ring by yourself, then you should be able to give an interview.

But **** like when Manny got KTFO by JMM was awkward. He was talking like he was gargling a mouthful of marbles afterwards.

I think Mcgregor gambled after his last fight saying hes gonna take a few months off. No doubt in negotiations the new owners talked about how Ronda can be the main draw. Right now there is legit no other UFC fighter that can draw the casual fan but McGregor.

He played his hand perfectly. He aimed high looking for equity which obv was never happening but they will soon be offering him a nice deal to come back and headline a card soon.

He said it after Overeem/Stipe, a fight Overeem was able to walk out solo on.

I wasn't directly referring to that fight. Just a general rule of thumb for post-fight interviews.

Alistair was still 'wobbly' enough not to acknowledge that Stipe didn't tap though which caused a minor kerfuffle and the subsequent talk that those who've just been KOed shouldn't be subjected to an immediate post-fight interview in the octagon.

I'd also add the mandatory standing next to the referee as Bruce Buffer announces the result unless it's a points decision is really unnecessary.

Mentioned earlier ITT when Cruz was doing Colour that i thought he was great at it and now listening to him talk about the fight it confirms my original thought. THe guy will be voice of UFC once he retires.

I did think Cruz saying he is there to entertain and if he didn't try to be as aggressive and active is a bit of a chicken **** answer to why he was getting clipped.

Don't remember his exact wording but it was something to that effect.

Ronda at the presser? or is that part of her "deal"

People complaining, I kinda like the quick fights they are fun. Before the fight I told my friends it might end in a minute if Ronda tries to box. Good luck trying to drag females to UFC without Ronda. She was legit the only reason the girls would sit through the card lol.

I am pretty sure UFC said she is going to do the presser. But I guess she could bail on it.

Pretty bad post-career planning by Ronda.

You can get by in sports far easier acting like a dick but the goal in entertainment industry is usually to get people to like you.

At this race if she goes WWE she will have to be the heel.

All of you saying 'Ronda should have tried to take her down', wtf do you think she was doing? She wasn't running at Nunes with her hands way out of position for funsies. She clearly did try, and her stand up was horrible enough that she only got about 30 seconds of trying before Nunes played patty-cake on her face.

Ronda literally does not know how to properly throw a punch. She does not know the basic form that anyone who has taken a month of boxing classes knows. She can't even shadow-box correctly. Good god. Like, is her coach telling her 'Ignore hip rotation! just push your fists forward with shoulder power! And make sure to rotate-flick your wrists really hard on every punch! You want to hit them with your pinky knuckle! Keep your head as still as possible!'

i'm not even gonna link the fight gifs because I'm lazy, but it's the exact same ****. Zero, zero, zero head movement. Her head is like a statue. She throws these weird shoulder punches that are just winged out there. No defense at all. Good lord.

This is a question for the hardcore mma fans.

Will women's mma in the ufc actually get bigger now that Tate and Rousey have been effectively forced out because the level has got to high for them to compete or is it going to suffer and fade away now that they're gone?

(I know Ronda hasn't retired yet but I think we all know she's done whether she stays or goes.)

I'd assume it fades unless another Rousey-esque star comes along which will be tough.

Stars make combat sports and get casual viewers to tune in. And obviously there was a lot of novelty to the whole Ronda thing.

Ronda was a huge star.
