Can't test him anymore, he's no longer a UFC athlete.

Would be a real shame if, after failing to Nate, he decided he needed a little extra to beat him this time.

It's probably a money issue. Something like he is getting main event $, probably slightly more than anyone has gotten ever.

And instead he wants way more than anyone has gotten ever because that is what he feels he is worth.

It's official.

http://www.ufc.com/news/McGregor-Pulled-from-UFC-200.

Conor made at least 5 million. IF he stops buying crappy suits and cars and is smart that's plenty for the rest of his life.

GSP likely with a hard on you can see from space right now. Not that he needs it, but I can't imagine there's much Dana won't do right now to get him to come back (Reebok/UA stuff aside)

CMG is a huge draw for the UFC but they will make plenty of money without him and will just move on, he hasn't shown he is who he thinks he is yet. He is just 1-1 in his 2 biggest fights. If this is indeed all a money thing.

They should make him fight 40 year old BJ Penn as punishment if he ever comes back.

Pretty much this. Never defends his belt, talks about collecting multiple belts or creating his own. Gasses in 7 minutes the first time he fights somebody bigger than he is and taps quick vs 10 days notice Nate Diaz. Then "retires" when told he actually has to help promote his own fight.

Way to face your loss like a champion Mac.

5M isn't really that much money unless he willingly downgrades to a normal middle class life.

conor's got UFC here (and he's right about making UFC way more than he was getting), only the hardcore fans know more than a few active fighters these days. [and that includes me a bit--I used to watch about all of them but now barely catch any] that said, dana seems like one of those stubborn fool jerk types and they don't care about that.

Got told 1 year ago McGregor would have 2-3 more fights then retire and head for Hollywood, posted itt too so I'm not surprised.

Hollywood only works if you are a star, his star will fade quick if he retires without doing much. I really like CMG but if he retires now after really doing nothing, I won't give a sht what he does in Hollywood, and a lot of fans will feel the same way.

Rousey got her movie shots because she is a semi attractive woman who can fight, but even her roles are just novelty bits and and she actually did do something in the ring.

Mac is really a prime candidate for being the stereotypical broke athlete.

I won't care about what he does in Hollywood either and that's even if he gets there.

But I'm not surprised he has pulled a stunt like this.

And Conor was ringside for it.

Certainly affected his decision most likely seeing a fellow MMA competitor die in front of him.

Was talking to a Norwegian guy in a hotel today who was at social with 'The Notorious' producers the day before and they told him it was being pulled because Conor was looking for to much of the PPV and it's noting to do with press commitments.
They joked about how they were now out of a job, guy came across as legit but not 100% sure.

UFC was going to run into this problem eventually once someone got big enough. The numbers were never going to work.

Floyd gets 40 million for fighting Andre Berto, McGregor wants a little more than like 6ish for fighting a top fighter on a PPV that is going to do close to 2M buys.

in reality I think he's avoiding pissing hot

contracts would've been worked out ftmp before the fight was officially booked

it's all a smoke screen but no one in the know can talk about what's really up, if it was money both he and Dana would be going at it in the press. Or at least Conor would be for sure.

The pay for a top level fighter/crossover star in the UFC is way below what it should be though. There just haven't been very many crossover stars that were huge draws.

GSP kinda got there and Brock Lesnar was huge before he faded.

Nobody else could even think of demanding what McGregor wants. Maybe someone like Chuck but he was likely fine with just making what UFC was willing to give.

As we've seen recently, a lot of $ to be made if the middleman is cutout and/or takes less.

So for anyone that thinks it's drugs....where is the proof or even any indication he dopes? Any of his camp caught using or even any rumours....gis a link please.

Poor form just to throw **** like that around. Obv if true I'll eat humble pie.

He's a drama queen and if he was made of chocolate he'd eat himself.

Dana really gonna pass on all that UFC 200 money though because of a press thing? I doubt it.
