C-Vig,

Forrest Griffin would become the first rape victim inside the Octagon if he fought Jon Jones.

Big GSP fan but yea this is pretty much true. He used to go for the the finish alot more before that loss. But I mean if he got caught again trying to finish KOS or Alves or something similiar, people would **** talk that as well. Haters gonna Hate more or less.

I actually said before the Shogun fight that style wise Machida poses more of a threat to Jones, but yea I still think he walks through Machida. Machida could give him fits in a few spots perhaps though.

Case for plenty of LHWs, at least Griffin presents a size problem

Machida's TDD is great but not great enough to stop Jones. After seeing how he WTFPWNed Bader I'm pretty sure nobody at 205 holds a wrestling advantage over him.

Jones top games and striking looked unbelievable against Shogun. Being able to avoid all sweeps and sub attempts of a BJJ ace like Shogun while also outstriking him is a mind-numbing feat.

I think Lyoto is the best fight for Jones right now at LHW.

Lyoto would be at a big reach disadvantage, but he's very good at managing distance. He's hard to hit. And Jones can be a bit wild in his striking at times, trying for spectacular rather than solid. I could see him trying something crazy, Lyoto easily dodging out of the way and then making him pay. Jones has speed and athleticism, but he's not yet super-technical.

He'd probably try to take Lyoto down, and probably would, but I think Lyoto's distance management and spacing makes him one of the hardest guys in the division to take down. I like his chances at avoiding the TD as much as anyone's (since it seems wrestling credentials don't really matter ala Hammil, Vladdy and Bader).

Jones is a favorite over anybody at LHW now, but Lyoto is hte most intriguing fight for me.

Explain to me why GSP needs to take chances or change the way he fights at all?

He's won what? 10 in a row? Horrible strategy!!!

I am mad at myself for missing UFC last weekend. I had thought I heard March 26th somewhere, so I didn't go out last Saturday, assuming the event was THIS Saturday, and apparently missed some amazing fights. Damn it.

There is an event this Saturday as well free on Spike. Granted, it isn't as good a main event but still should have some good fights on it.

UFC Fight Night or whatever it is should be held to week nights so it doesn't confuse people and make them miss actual big card title fight events.

he said that gsp uses the same strat (i assume he meant heavy reliance on ground game) but against koscheck he dismantled him with jabs only. shows that gsp can adapt to any fighter and doesn't stick to one strat.

Never said it was a horrible strategy. I agreed with original person that he is overly conservative, which is fine for his own career. Just makes it a lot less likely for me to spend money watching him.

Acknowledging greatness while commenting on its effect on business isn't exactly hating.

mike swick has been a red pro for foreeeeeeeeever on FTP. No idea why, except that it probably happened when he was a bigger name and FTP was much smaller than they currently are.

ftp is having/had a big tourny with ufc for promotion/charity/something so id imagine his increased activity relates to that.

re: gsp is bad for business.

I dunno, pulling in 85000 for the dan hardy fight and even more buys for the koscheck fight doesn't sound like he's bad for business.
