Terrible judging on the Diaz-Kim fight from UFC 125. Diaz clearly should have won the round. Horrible that all 3 MMA judges thought process can be boiled down to "on top = win round."

I'm a big fan of the Diaz brothers, but Nate lost that fight.

gsp, shogun (or jones )

was a crazy upkick strike. was the sole of the foot that hit his chin? came straight up the middle just like an uppercut punch.

it didn't look like a fight-ending hit but chins are vulnerable? so unique and nuts. it sucks that the fans still boo anderson. he is super nice, down to earth and polite. it's not his fault he rarely gets pushed to the 5 round classic that they demand...

bones jones is awesome too. will destroy shogun rua imo. another amazing and unique style. he could dominate that division for years.

silva already had a ko by jab, now he has a ko by teep kick. dude is just unreal.

it's amazing to watch silva just screw around, wave hands and dance around. even after belfort nearly knocked him down, silva just bounces up and gets serious and boom, ko.

It's impossible to conclude based on those three facts that sonnen would win a fight where he wasn't cheating and silva was healthy.

Also obv GSP is incredible but Silva is #1 in the world and a fav in a fight vs GSP at 85.

silva obviously human, he got dominated most of the fight by sonnen, has a lot of difficulty getting up from bottom versus a good wrestler (hendo, sonnen) gsp can certainly give him a ton of trouble

that said, he's rightfully one of the GOATs and his striking is in a league of its own

i haven't seen the fight since it happened so i don't remember for sure but i don't think hendo had him down for all that long. and he had an injured rib in the sonnen fight.

i agree that a fight vs gsp would be closer than a lot of people seem to think though. gsp's wrasslin is sick and that is apparently the only possible way to beat silva.

I was also recently under the impression Anderson was better at getting off his back than he is. He really isn't at all.

Anderson didn't get up from bottom vs Hendo. The round ended and he was eating hammerfists. We all saw Sonnen where he got put on his back over and over and didn't get up once in over 20 minutes. And Sonnen was getting takedowns without a ton of resistance. Lutter got to mount on him before getting reversed after making a pretty severe error at the end of Round 1.

Anderson won all these fights. He's got really good jiu-jitsu obviously (choked out lutter, hendo, sonnen). He's just not a very good wrestler.

if he had trouble versus Hendo, Sonnen and Lutter's wrestling (who all took a round or 4 off him), it could certainly be an issue with GSP

silva/GSP has to happen. i mean it'll obviously be a tremendous disappointment somehow with GSP just running away and throwing 2 punches every 3 minutes and silva dancing, but wtf is really left

and i refuse to acknowledge an HGH using money launderer losing to him on pure stupidity as silva being beatable

btw it wasn't steroids that held anderson down for 4.5 rounds, it was superior wrestling. just like it wasn't steroids that got choked out by him, it was poor jiu-jitsu
