SF is trying so set up Hendo vs Fedor this summer, looks like both fighters are down, just need to figure out the buisness side of things, also possible a catchweight.

diaz vs daley was an insane, insane fight.

Probably not going to be the fight of the year because it was only 1 round, but I'd give it round of the year thus far.

aoki is too good on the ground for anybody but elite fighters/grapplers. Beerbohm is a grappling specialist and he got tooled easily and quickly. Aoki has the best applied grappling of any LW in MMA. Penn has a better grappling resume and could win a straight grappling match with Aoki, but he doesn't apply it the same way Aoki does.

"stop smiling bitch" i think thats what he said at the beginning of the match

there was a point where Daley caught him a left hook.. diaz went flat on his face and the match was a punch or 2 before big jon stopping .. truly amazing... but diaz shifted down and grabbed daleys left wrist which made Daley give up position.. too worried about jui jitsu and let him up

both reset on their feet but nicks triathlon level conditioning showed that he had more left in the tank

electrifying fight!!

watch matt hughs triggs II

If the UFC didn't buy out Strikefarce.... we'd be getting hyped for Melendez vs Alvarez right about now.

C-Viggity was in this thread a few months ago talking bs about how Sonnen was prescribed the PED he was on, and told the athletic commission about what he was taking before the fight but just didn't clear it with them correctly.

In case there's anyone else out there gullible enough to believe that BS, Sonnen has admitted he was talking ****, he never got permission from anyone, he never advised anyone, and he was just talking **** to get his suspension reduced.

He's supposed to appear before the Nevada commission at the end of the month to try to get re-licensed.

Bones is out with a hand injury. Phil Davis vs Evans. Evans will be eaten up alive IMO.

hey I'm a brazilian and right now The Spider is just an idol here in ur country. Is it true that a boy sent him a video challenging him? If so, has he accepted?
People here comment a lot but never know if this is true.

what do you mean "a boy sent a video challenging him"? Like on the internet some random dude wanted to fight him?

Davis against Evans is a very interesting fight imo.

Wresting should be about even imo, small edge to Davis. Davis is younger and has a waaaaaaaaaaay better pedigree, but he hasn't always applied it smoothly to MMA. Rashad is savvy and has very good 'adapted-to-MMA' wrestling. He knows the little tricks to grind opponents, how to utilize the cage, etc. Maybe a small edge to Davis wrestling, but not a big one.

Rashad should have an edge striking. He's fast and pretty fluid, and has more experience. Davis still looks awkward at times standing.

Rashad also mixes all the aspects of MMA better. Transitions, set-ups, scrambles are all very good.

Can Davis impose his wrestling gameplan on another wrestler? If he can, then he jumps to the next level from prospect to contender. Can he hold his own standing against a much more experience opponent?

Can Rashad dominate a young, talented, and athletic challenger? Rashad has been a mainstay at the top of the division since he KO'd Liddell, but he hasn't ever really put on a dominant performance since then. He beat Griffin, but was losing until the KO gnp. He lost decisively to Machida. He won a very close and extremely boring decision against rampage where he frankly didn't do very much. Point being, exactly how good Rashad Evans might be is still up for debate.

I think we learn a lot from this fight about both fighters. Maybe Davis breaks out his potential with a win. Maybe Rashad wins another ugly decision and cements his place as the ugly-decision-grinder-guy who is really, really hard to beat. Maybe Rashad dominates impressively and people start to think he might have a chance against Bones.
