He'd make a lovely one test wonder quiz question
He's guaranteed at least to be the official back up bowler now which probably means at least 18 months of being part of the squad provided he generally takes wickets for around that 30 runs a piece and that is probably good for anywhere up to 10 test matches. Maybe a little more. At 34, he'll probably be bowling in the 120s and the selectors will need to drop him. I must admit watching the BBL there are some good fast bowling prospects coming along so if the selectors are more ruthless and give him 9 to 12 months I'm ok with that too.

Stokes’ ideal position is #7 IMO, he’s an ok #6 but way too high at #5

Hazlewood is supposedly out for the series. Starc has a niggling injury, so I’d play Boland in Sydney and hopefully being Starc back for Hobart.

Given the number of injuries with our bowlers, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone new gets a berth.

You've won the series, why not give the U19 squad a run out and make the game more competitive?

Hard to imagine the squads not getting Covid ravaged before the 5th Jan.

it seems the England team were very lucky (or maybe unlucky) that none of the team didn’t catch it in Melb given it was in their camp.

Given how prevalent it is here and all the potential contacts they’ll be having in hotels, airports, training etc there’s a chance a few of them will get it and close contact rules are stricter here than in SA

Agree. More and more he is becoming like Flintoff. A bowling rather than batting all-rounder.

Why not?

Give McAndrew a go

Yeah no point having the last two tests with covid around, lets just call it 3-2 to australia shake hands and we can be done with it.

Maybe we should say we've got a one day tournament to play a feck off home, like India did in the summer.

4-0 I reckon (usual dodgy weather in Hobart may simmer out to a draw).

Are you going to bat Foakes at #7 or #8?

I wonder if Tasmania is getting nervous with the teams likely to be be bringing more covid onto the island.

Maybe one or both squads get covid to a degree that the fifth Test gets cancelled.

It's rampant now - no point in cancelling anything now.

Kane still out with his dodgy elbow

Latham has captained 5 times and lost the toss 5 times... Our pitches are the opposite of India, another green one and our batters will have a challenge today.

Ross Taylor is retiring at the end of the Limited overs games this summer so this is his last Test series, what a hero he has been for us, an ATG for sure.

I would love for him to get his 20th test ton in this series to finish off a great Test career

I thought you'd be sad about the news. GG Taylor. Kept proving your critics wrong including me as to when you should retire. You'll always be remembered at least for me for that slog over mid-wicket.

De Kock retired from tests too. Kinda sad to see talented players give up on the format.

Really thought Quinton was going to burst through and make a big splash in test cricket, but it was just a tease I suppose.

will win quite a lot of cash if Bangladesh avoid a loss in this NZ test. NZ were 1/10 to win it pre-game

batting surface has been lovely for the last two days and BAN have taken full advantage

going into day 4,
NZ 328 all out
BAN 401/6

3rd new ball is due soon.

weird to watch batsmen who dont immediately lose their wicket

Yeah Bangladesh have been so surprisingly great so far, nice to see them so competitive.

Liton Das, what a talented player, loved watching him bat and keep in this test.

Looks very much like a draw and the first time in 30 plus games in all formats, that the Tigers will not lose the game

I'm really happy for test cricket that Bangladesh are putting up this performance. It would be terrible if there was no competition and the gulf between good and bad teams grew bigger.

I love the fact that Bangladesh are doing the and they have a guy who averages 80 with the ball and 0.5 with the bat.

This is after 10 teats too.

there was one particularly fun moment yesterday, Wagner got Mominul to nick it to the keeper early in the day but on replay it was a (debatable) front foot no-ball

Momi went on to make a further 80 odd runs

umpires calling no-balls is so old-fashioned!

teams won't get through 80 overs in 6 hours if no-balls get called!

NZ started the day 147/5, mopped up for 169

BAN need 40 for a historic win
