I had this exact problem while running Vista. You need to make sure POH is running as adminstrator, and the stats will stay on top of the table.

If your not running Vista, then I have no idea

Trying this out now. Since I have both HM and the PT3 beta, is one gonna be particularly faster than the other or does it really not matter? Sorry if this has been answered.

EDIT: Two quick impressions:
- Ability to select multiple stats in the cockpit to change common settings between them (i.e. font) would be nice so I don't have to make the same changes to 20 diff stats
- When I change the font the cockpit changes the font size to random stuff, like I change MS Sans Serif 10 to Verdana 10 and it becomes Verdana 9.75, or Verdana 8 goes to 8.25

EDIT 2: Ability to select multiple stats and move them around as a group would be clutch

I havent used this in a while - but there is a [Actions] Drop Down > 'Apply this font/decimal to all stats' button, that will do what you want, IIRC.

Ok, so once I got my layout set up, I tried running w/ 18 tables on FTP. System performance was meh:

Screen tearing while stats load on various tables

High CPU usage

For reference, HM doesn't do a lot better in this category (depends on how many panels I use). PA HUD is quite usable and doesn't drain my resources as much as any of the next-gen HUDs at this time. Haven't tried w/ PT3 since its HUD doesn't support color ranges yet.

FTP seemed to run okay even if the rest of my system was super slow, though.

The only other problem I noticed was that when running a ton of tables, stats were very slow to update (whereas w/ 1 table open, they update very fast). Like, a 6-handed table got down to 3-handed, and it took at least a few minutes before the stats disappeared over the empty seats. PA HUD generally handles this within just a couple hands.

Possible bug: When stats were loading on my tables and most tables in the list said "NaN" for vpip/pfr, I unchecked the box next to one of them to disable stats and then rechecked it. Stats appeared on the table, but all of them just said "..". Even after stats loaded for all my other tables, this table would not load them (even after unchecking and rechecking the checkmark).

I might try playing w/ it later, early impressions though are that performance could use some improvement. fwiw my system is 2.4 GHz C2D, 2GB RAM.

Goofy,

I'm glad you're trying this out. Thanks for your comments. POH is not optimized right now for a huge number of tables. In fact, its my number one priority and is the main thing I'm working on now -- decreasing memory usage and optimizing CPU usage. It seems to work just fine on 4-6 tables. If your DB is very large (I think yours is), it will take longer to load stats etc. This will be the case until I (or Pat) adds compiled stats. The POH for HEM tends to run a bit faster, but there are fewer stats available right now.

Stay tuned for future improvements in the areas you mentioned.

For those having issues downloading the latest version, try the alternative location. Its likely a cacheing issue.

Is it possible to show Hero stats but just for the session ?

If not, will it be available in future version of POH ?

Thx a lot.

Right now, you can show hero session stats only by right clicking a hero stat and toggling to session stats. The bad thing about this is that hero stats are enabled, thus slowing retreival speeds and you have to switch to session stats for the hero on each table.

The ability to "Show Only Hero Session Stats" is coming soon, which would fix both of those problems.

Commercialization plans have not been finalized.

I just posted 0.6.2, which is mostly minor performance improvements with a 2 week extension.

Version 0.6.2:

Bugs:

Data retrieval interval value is not saved.

Editing color range's min/max values is not possible. Range has to be deleted first and new one (with colors and all) created. Was easier to find the location in the .xml file and edit by hand.

Snap to grid spacing x/y values are not saved.

I edited one combo stat (removed a stat from it), and it lost it's font settings.

Feature Requests:

If a stat's value is < 10, automatically use 1 decimal, otherwise don't use decimal.

Size and alignment setting for each stat, so that a stat that has value 1, would be "1.0", and value 15 would be " 15" and value 100 would be "100". This would allow nice alignment and improve readability.

Any time table on this? This is the only reason I'm not currently using POH as my main HUD.

There is something seriously wrong with the performance.. when I had the hud running on 3 tables, the hard drive (I suspect it was the drive where I keep my database files) was trashing constantly, and other db using softwares suffer from it too. For example, scanning the tables using spade eye (which uses pt3 db) took almost an hour, then I killed po hud and the scan took only 2 minutes, hd trashing stopped immediately too.

If PT3 is auto-importing, are the Handhistory Directories setting really needed? I mean isn't that just slowing things down if HUD reads and parses both the HH directories and the PT3 database?

It would be possible to use the hand histories that are autoimported instead of from the file itself, but this would affect a lot of functionality (such as being able to detect players at the table when autoimport is not on, etc.). Technically, all the database retrieval does is access data from a file anyway, so in essence, I would expect no performance improvement from only pulling from the database. If you are experience any performance issues though, let me know. I don't see any on my system at all, with either FTP or Stars.
