How snap to grid works? I may be imagining things, but if a stat is at position (3,3), and I change my snap spacing to 5, next coordinate to the right I can move it to is (8,3). IMO this should be (5,3). Again, I'm not sure if this is happening and sorry if it already works as it should.

EDIT: feature request: user definable stats alignment according to seat, so user could define stats for players who sit on the left side of the table to align to the left, and players sitting on the right side align to the right.
gball,

Color ranges should be saved for the layout your making changes to (ie Basic on 6 max FTP tables etc). I will verify that they are. One option I plan on adding is the ability to apply color ranges across all different layout types.

Snap to grid should automatically get saved to your preferences so that it is always the same across all tables. I will check to make sure this functionality is working properly.

As far as how the snap to grid works, its been a while since I coded it, but I believe it snaps to multiples of the number in question. Now, when the initial layout is set, the stat may be placed on a position that does not equate to this so the first time you move it from this location, it won't look quite right but future moves should position according to this mulitplier.

Thats an interesting feature request. I'll consider adding something like that.

Thanks.

2) Why do the stats sometimes show and sometimes not?

3) The program eats up my CPU (AMD 64 2.41GHz w/ 2GB - WinXP).

Thanks.
Nando,

1. Thats obviously a bug. This had happened before but I thought I had fixed it. If this happens again, can you let me know the precise scenario in which it happened (ie what did you do before that caused it to happen?)

2. There are some known issues with combo stats. Other than that there shouldn't be any problems.

3. CPU usage has been reported to be very low and it is for me. The program currently is not optimized for memory use but CPU usage has been low. One question I have for you is whether this happens all the time or do you have a particularly large DB.

Thanks.

I loaded POH today and used it with PT3 to get a feel for it. A couple things have already been addressed like the hero stats for current session and the issue with the big table averages box. I have a couple of stats like PFR with decimal points. Is it possible to set the color ranges using decimal points? PAHud has Fold to Flop, Turn and River bets which comes in handy. Is it possible to add these? Is there anything planned to determine PF Aggression by position?

Overall, I'm impressed with POH!

Data retrievals should be pretty quick. Can you experiment with it a bit by closing down different programs you are using etc., increasing the time the data is retrieved (see Preferences dialog), make sure logging is turned off, etc.? You really should be experiencing much CPU usage.

I meant the ColorDialog, when you
- select color range in cockpit
- click edit
- double click the color
- click "Define Custom Colors >>" button
- define a custom color using the Red, Green, and Blue text boxes
- click "Add to Custom Colors" button
- click "OK"
- click Apply

then,

- select color range in cockpit
- click edit
- double click the color
--> custom color we just defined has disappeared

On Stars NL Tourney, the combo stats do not show up automatically. I have to select a combo stat, select edit, and then press edit again to save the combo stat; then they show up.

I have not been able to track down any useful input on the limit combo stat and showing the session stats, it's just a bit too seemingly random in the things it's doing.

I don't understand the "color range" field. Can I make the stats have a variable color? example: vpip range <20 red 20-30 orange >30 green. I like this to more immediately recognize a fish.

I tried POH this afternoon.

My computer started hemming and hawing real loudly. I opened the task manager and POH was using WAY WAY more MB than any other program including PT3 and PokerStars.

What is causing this?

Likely as soon as PT3 has support for it; I may do other sites sooner if HEM users request it.

Try the new update 0.6.1; in it, I think I fixed a lot of the combo stat problems.

Yes, thats exactly what the color ranges are for. To set the VPIP to Green for < 20, just make the minimum field 0, the max field 19 and the color green (double click the color box).

Thats not good; POH currently is not optimized for memory consumption but CPU speed should not be affected unless you don't have a lot of memory in your computer. What is your computer's configuration? In the near future, I will be spending time on optimizing memory consumption.

After 1 hour trying to configure stats:
Feature that would help usability tremendously: let user define custom colors that are added into a combobox in the Color Ranges listbox for each row (in the Color column). Also, let user type straight into the listbox cell without having to open the dialog clicking the Edit/Add button. Now it takes 10 mouse clicks to change the color, and I have a burning feeling in my carpal tunnel after configuring maybe half my stats.

Disable hero stats option doesn't work (at least on party).
Also, when I join a table, sometimes the buyin dialog doesn't appear and I can't join the table. This never happens without HUD running.

Regarding disappearing dialogs: it happens with other dialogs too, like the "do you want to leave" dialog. And the dialog is actually there, but it's just not being drawn, because I can click ENTER and the dialog does what it usually does when ENTER is clicked.

On the stars combo stats, the hero combo stats are still acting strangely in 0.6.1.
I had one session that I started Stars, PT3 and POH and at the very first hand a the very first table the session stat said I'd played 39 hands in the session. The hero stats still stop updating the session values after selecting once, as far as I've seen.
Also the session stats for players at a table are not always updating correctly either, they also seem to stop updating if you toggle their session stats.
I was also able to recreate the disappearing combo stat by toggling the session stats right when a screen update occurs. I was able to fix it this time by saving the current theme on another table.
One other minor thing, the table stats window does not resize when you change table size but the position of the text in the box does change. So when you enlarge a table to full screen the table stat box does not show the values unless to manually enlarge the the table stat container.
I'm not sure how the positioning of the popup stats is stored but at times it shows up about 70% off the screen to the right. Also if you drag the popup stat window very far left of the window that you called it from, it has, well, display issues. It would be nice to be able to resize that window, cause on my system at least, it not quite wide enough.

But, it's truly an awesome tool and it's so cool your working with the three main data collection systems.

standard settings for a PT3 database:

Server: 127.0.0.1 (or localhost, if you prefer)
Port: 5432
User ID: postgres
Password: dbpass

gball, I don't think I understand the part in bold. As for typing in straight into the color range listbox, this is very good idea and I likely will implement it soon.

Does it seem as if the dialog box is behind the table? If so, does it appear when you click on the table? (This is the behavior on Stars occasionally).

It doesn't appear when clicking on the table. Sometimes maybe one button of the dialog is getting drawn, which made me realize the dialog is actually there, it just doesn't get drawn.

The lag is especially terrible when tables overlap, because it takes maybe 3-5 seconds before the table that was behind another to get completely drawn after it gets the focus. The process that takes 25% of the CPU (on a quad core system = saturates one core fully) is the party process, and I have no idea how these HUD programs work, but it seems like either it gets on some kind of a loop where party's paint handler gets called again and again when the hud tries to refresh itself, or, the HUD code is called from within the party process somehow. And the problem is not the party client, because when I close the HUD everything is smooth again.

Stats never display for me. The cockpit thing over the table displays every once in a while.

PokerObserver main lobby says it detects tables but no overlay. I have tried with Pokertracker 3 database and holdemanager database and made sure to directories are going to right pokerstars folder.

Actually, when I deselect and then select the table in the min window of pokerobserver, it displays stats, but whenever I click the table stats disappear.
