I'm of the opinion that any homophobic doctrine is deserving of ridicule, regardless of the generic intention.

I made a post a while ago about how comparing the violence (or anti-gay) level of religions was probably not wise, but was certainly not germane to this thread. It isn't. These protests in TX and AZ have nothing to do with it. If you want to talk about that, you should probably start a new thread and probably in another forum.

I hope coming out of the closet and personal growth and all that has gotten you to a place where you don't think Hen.r.y.17 was usually spot on, because he usually wasn't.

That isn't how this debate is being framed. The arguments are that it is no more homophobic than Christianity or Judiasm. One can find interpretations of the Quran, the Old Testament and the New Testament that are homophobic. The people that support/follow these interpretations are homophobic. There are many practitioners of these religions that don't support these homophobic interpretations. I think it is fair to say that the "fundamentalist" followers condemn homosexuality out of hand. That is essentially how I understand the arguments to be in this thread.
