I mean, I'd take a rando bc it's not gonna get a lot worse than this, but it's not getting any better than him something like half the time. There are some liberals who are flat out too stupid to do the job or even hire good people around them even if their political beliefs are better too.

I imagine that many of his core supporters are every bit as bad belief wise and many of them will also be dumber than he is.
Literally any liberal in congress or senate would be better. I guess your statement is correct to the extent that CDL's paradigm liberal is an uneducated black kid from chicago who isn't fit to run the country.. But really anyone with a hint of experience in government would be better than trump. Even if they are super-lefty!

For ****s and giggles I just googled "breitbart popularity". I don't know what kind of methodology Alexa is using, but they have breitbart as #29 on their list of "top sites" in America. Just ahead of pornhub and espn.com. Even worse than I thought.

What's a random liberal do? Well, I'd ask Obama for some help. I'm sure the least he'd do is help you find people to help. If a random Republican asks W, well, that's not great, but it's still a lot better than what we have now.

Things got worse between US/Russia after that, so the reset button sort of lives on symbolically as a missed opportunity/failure for the Obama administration. It has pretty much jack all to do with any uranium, which --without looking-- I'm going to assume is just raw Breitbart bull****.

ofc, the real answer here is that logic of tribal identifiers operates in a kind of word association fashion, so simply invoking Hillary + Rest Button + Russia is enough to rile up your base. There's no meaningful policy critique involved. It's like if I log on to chiefsplanet and say "Obama, teleprompters, community organizer! FOUR DEAD AMERICANS!!!" --I haven't expressed anything other than the fact that I'm signaling that I'm on your team as a Republican.

Hahaha that dumbass Kayleigh woman on CNN just got told off on Don Lemon's show.

"I'll just scoot my chair over."

"You can scoot until you fall off that ledge."

Last 2 admins made the mistake of being too soft on Russia so naturally millions decided to vote for the guy who wants to be bff's. GOP has one similarity tho as both are paid for by oil tycoons. $$$ wins, $$$ always wins.

Just ridic times we live in.

No f'ing clue why people think america and russia should be pals, we have no shared goals, no shared vision of the world, no nothing. Well at least as of 4 weeks ago. We don't have to be enemies sure, but it just shakes my head at why so many flipped so quickly.

Just want to emphasize here that there are legitimate criticisms to be made about the way the Obama administration handled Russia --my boy Kasparov talks about this all the time. But, like, the use of a corny photo-op prop really isn't one of them.

I'm arguing with nitwits elsewhere that all presidents lie and trump is no harm no foul with his lies. lol it's such amazing denial.

Alexa primarily used to rely on self-installed malware friendly browser toolbars but I don't know what the situation is now.

r/The_Donald always a good late night read if you want to see just how far down the rabbit hole these people are. Some of the posts are so nonsensical I have to wonder if they're still paid shills.

And then they say on currently front page threads that "posts supporting other candidates will be removed." In February. Nice.

Also the button was supposed to say "reset" in Russian, but actually said "overcharge" and was not written in Cyrillic. Other than that, A+ job. But it was a meaningless publicity stunt.

The uranium thing is a selection of half-truths cobbled together into a quid pro quo story that makes no sense. Snopes has a summary here. Unmentioned is that the US doesn't actually have much uranium, so while 20% sounds like a lot, it's 20% of not much to begin with.

Been hearing multiple things tonight and I'm starting to agree.

I am horrified at the idea of having a conversation with my Trump-conned dad, because he's always had a libertarian-ish streak and I think his number one desire for government (besides to go away) is to be transparent. To the point I've seen him get in heated arguments defending Snowden and Manning.

And I'm scared that's all out the window: the one really principled stand he had in regard to politics might be gone. The one thing I'd thought wasn't subject to him dropping due to bad TV soundbytes.

If the subject of leaks ever comes up, I hope I can change it fast enough...

Actually both of our peoples are fighting autocracy, so it's kind of on americas interest to support more people like navalny over there.

The evening News shows in Germany fail to adjust to Trumps lies. On the short round u abut Trumps press conference the just said "President Trump said his administration works like a fine tuned machine and that he inherited chaos in domestic and foreign politics form the previous government"

It feels very wrong to just repeat his statements uncommented.

Shep has always been pretty legit. He has a solid crew working for him and they play it pretty straight. He's better at breaking news than politics but he is a fairly reliable voice.

That's what the American press did before the election

Worked out well

Germany's turning right themselves. Merkel might not hold as chancellor.

Checking in with chiefsplanet - even out of the Trump supporters only a few of the total moron/nutjobs seem energized by that presser. The rest are either absent or subdued.
