The Russians are sending con artists, spies, and white nationalists to be the members of Trump's cabinet. They aren't sending their best! I'm just saying it's time for a ban on All Trump Administration members until we figure out what's going on. We need some extreme vetting in this country.

I just noticed that The ever-present "Obama student loan program" ads on my Facebook have been replaced with "Trump mortgage program" banners. What a world

You don't suppose that some of them are good people? Or people in general?

Republican State Senator angrily yells at children and parents, tells them taxpayer money is not your money, taxpayer money belongs to corporations and lobbyists:
Quote:
“What are you scared of,” he can be heard shouting at the beginning of the video. “What are all y’all scared of?”

A person in the audience can be heard responding: “That money you’re sending to private schools should be used to enhance public schools.”

Huffines, clearly enraged responds: “What makes you think it isn’t? What makes you think it’s your money? It’s the businesses. It’s their money. Sixty-two percent of all property tax is paid by business.”

As The Dallas Morning News reports, “During one exchange, a student pushed back against a proposal to give students a stipend to attend private schools. She said, as other critics contend, that the voucher would not be large enough to allow the student to go to many high-dollar schools in North Texas.”

She can be heard about 30 seconds into the video, asking:

“Excuse me Senator, I don’t mean to offend you but you are speaking on behalf of the students, and as a student of public education I disagree with this completely. I’ve gone to a private school before…with these vouchers, what are you going to get — $5000 a year? The majority of these private schools are $5000 a semester. How are lower income families supposed to pay for the rest of the school year?”

Huffines can be heard exploding on her, calling her selfish.

““Oh, so it doesn’t pay for all their education. It doesn’t pay for all their education, does it? The $5000 won’t pay for it, right? So you’re saying since we’re not giving them enough money to pay for all their education, screw ’em they can’t go to private school! Do you want me to give them $15,000? Is that what you want? So they can all go to Hockaday or St. Mark’s? That’s the most selfish thing I’ve ever heard.

Note the context of all of this: He is going to defund the schools these parents' kids go to, then offer them not enough tax voucher money to send their kids to the private/charter schools. The message is clear. If you can't afford private school on your own, your kids are going to be screwed. If you can afford private school on your own, we're gonna give you vouchers of public money to send your kids to private school for free.

EVERYONE pays taxes, Republicans. Public school is for EVERYONE.

Correct me if I'm wrong as I'm not well versed in the entire school system debate but I just want to make sure I have the jist of it.

On the path that is currently going into effect, private schools are going to get better and public schools are going to get worse? Throw out the federal government and leave it entirely into the state's hands and the poorest states public schools are going to be left in shambles and the curriculum might be drastically different than say an elementary school in the Northeast?

If this is the case, the whole anti immigration platform starts to make more sense. It isn't for security but to replace those immigrants with American Serfs and set up a Feudal system.

Or maybe I'm off base.

Private schools won't get better, they'll get worse as they get roped into taking the less motivated students. Meanwhile, the public schools will be left with less funding and the toughest cases.

Although I disagree with the first part of your post, this paragraph is absolutely correct. Republicans have been doing this for long before Trump as well. What iron said is basically what will happen IMO. Remember private schools/charter schools have all kinds of rules in place so they don't have to take "undesirable" students because those bring their test scores down, which reveals the fact that their performance ISN'T significantly better than public schools across the board.

ok that makes sense. So the average private school will get worse, becoming the new regular school, and the best private schools will still be good, but probably cost more to weed out the least "motivated".

So basically the price of education is going to go up and those that can't afford to keep up with the inflation are probably going to get stuck in the lower class more so than they already are

Yep - the middle class Trumpers just played themselves on education. Well done.
