Authorities on Friday released the name of a woman who was fatally shot when officers say she fired at them from the back of a patrol car in downtown Atlanta.
Quote:
Schierbaum said it's unclear how the woman was able to fire a gun while in the patrol car and that police are investigating whether she had been handcuffed. Her identity wasn't released. The two officers weren't injured and both are on administrative leave while the investigation continues, department spokesman Sgt. Greg Lyon said.
Wut. She was apparently handcuffed.

Nat Turner's rebellion invalidated his complaints about slavery.

What does it say about you when I talk about rioters, you automatically assume I'm talking about black people? Sounds suspiciously like a racist to me.

The situation certainly diminish's the justness of police authority and calls into serious question their accountability, but invalidates law and order?

Milam and Bryant's acquittals invalidated accusations that Emmett Till was lynched.

Well we all know people want to make it easier for black people to vote.

So is it confirmed that that guy is the driver? I wasn't sure if it would be driver or officer in charge at the scene.

Sure, but the right to protest and the choice to vote are not necessarily related in the way you portrayed. I wish it were as easy as "just vote", but systemic voter disenfranchisement is a tough pickle of problem like poverty and racism, with long solutions.

C'mon Wil, you can defend these cops better than that.

Ya, the driver was the one charged with murder.

This is a provocative sentiment, but it should be pointed out that Jefferson was known to be a terrible farmer.

I'm actually surprised this is the first time people have made note of the year included in braves' user name.

My buddy who was basically a liberal 10 years ago, voted for Obama the first time, and who I've pretty much watched turn conservative (I finally found out he reads Krauthammer religiously), from this political mailing list we're on:

Quote:
I don't know what America you guys grew up in, but I think shooting Michael brown was the right thing to do. If you attack a cop you will receive the consequences. That Brown kid was a criminal. The world's gene pool is better off without him. The evidence strongly suggested that the cop acted reasonably. And there was no shred of evidence that the shooting was immoral or racist. Again, I'm obviously seeing this differently but I want my cops to shoot criminals. That's called law enforcement IMHO.
How do you even respond to that? Coincidentally or not, he's from the South. I'm wondering if it's a common thing for southerners and midwesterners to have their liberal "rumspringa" then drift back to this state.

I think you yell NO JUSTICE; NO PEACE while you burn his computer to the ground and loot his toilet paper.

You're not from the midwest or the south. Or Boston. Or other parts of the east coast.

California conservatives at least know not to use the N-word.

Yeah the N-word would never fly at mine either. But the sentiment would be the exact same. "Look at those looters! Thanks, Obama".

From my FB feed:

It's simple, the whole thing is Obama's fault for riling up the negroes. No need for further analysis.

The smug look on that guy's face is just so perfect for the intended demogaphic.

Such utter bull****. You have absolutely zero desire to "see what's in the van". Your dream scenario is that we never see what's in the van, so nothing can be disproven.

The FoxNews article on the announcement of the arrest warrants does not have a comments section. I guess they felt that the racist rabble wouldn't be able to string together any types of semi-coherent responses.

He does not seem to be a fan of due process for one thing. But there's this idea that if someone is "criminal" then they are pure evil and it doesn't matter if you kill them.

There is a lot of social pressure for white southern men to be conservative.
