Do you believe that DrChesspain's modification to your statement significantly changed it's meaning?

Today I somehow through facebook came across a worldnetdaily article. I read through some of the comments section and the full blown unabashed racists were still out in force. I had only a passing familiarity with worldnetdaily and knew it was a website for crazies, but I had absolutely no idea just how crazy. Wow.

The BPD Union is so scared by vloggers they think they can bend time.

Sure

It changed it from what I actually said to the lie that I said something like "I'm sure you don't mean it that way but you make it sound like black people have fundamentally different experiences to everybody else."

Obviously I said nothing like the later and certainly not about a country with such a big racism problem

So the police union says "these officers did nothing wrong."

LOL. So tilting.

Looks like their GoFundMe got taken down because it violates the site's terms.

I think you misunderstand what DrChesspain intended. I think he was saying that your initial statement was inaccurate. He wasn't putting words in your mouth. He was telling you that you were wrong.

you say that's what he intended but it's not what he did. But ok I accept that it may have been an unintended misrepresentation.

If you are right then he is also wrong. The original statement still sounded racist even if unintentionally so - so if you're correct DrChesspain was agreeing with me and correcting the original statement -as Fly pointed out before he took off.

There's still an important point here which is that I don't need to ask my neighbour about how I should feel about/judge what's happening in Baltimore - it would be patronising and kind of racist to do so.

Nah. I don't get butthurt when arguing with morons. See, wookie can't waiiit to ban me because he's a childish bad mod who can't tell the difference between very obvious things. Watching him try to bait me is just laughable.

You, however, continue to impress me with your ability to type your posts out while having his penis in your mouth.

How familiar are you with the acronym FYP, as used on the internet?

I corrected your statement because you took the expression "the souls of black folks" and asked whether the expression suggests some type of fundamental, racial difference in "souls," (lol), when I think nearly everyone else would understand that it refers to the thoughts, feelings, values, etc. of people who are black--all of which are shaped by experiences.

It doesn't invalidate it, but it does make one wonder where white people get such keen insight into the souls of black people.
Technically I'll state it sounded exclusionary using racial terms. If you are not in the souls (or shoes) of black people, how do you know? The answer is you could know in a variety of ways and to various degrees.

To me, your other point amounts to 'it doesn't matter what color your friends are'. I agree.

Fairly.

You don't think it's often used to misrepresent what people said?

It also doesn't matter what your skin pigmentation is.

We can empathise with other people experiences despite superficial differences. Braves is quite wrong when he suggest that only the people shot by the police have some genuine right/ability to be angry about it (if that's what he meant) into how bad it is - we all do.

you got it wrong before.

Now your talking about character not experiences and getting into a valid area - but if you speak like there's some fundamental divide defined by skin colour then you are sounding racist which was the point I made while recognising it was unintentional of course.

Keep editing your post. Maybe it'll make some sort of sense eventually.

I think it is used to express the opinion that what someone said is wrong (or incomplete) and to highlight what they should have said instead. Sometimes, the intention is humor.

Here are some recent uses of FYP (culled from threads I had in open tabs).
