Cerrone is #6 imo (Pettis, Bendo, Khabib, Melendez and RDA beat him although I think Cerrone's overall more dangerous than RDA) but yeah good first fight for Alvarez

I take it this means Alvarez officially vacates the Bellator title and Brooks is promoted from Interim Champ to actual champ?

Makes sense though either Cerrone wins and Dana White can go 'lol Bellator champs' and Cerrone gets a title shot if Melendez becomes champ or Alvarez wins and they can give him a title fight next after Melendez regardless of who wins the title fight assuming Khabib is still injured

I'm just going by the UFC rankings, where Cerrone is above RDA for some reason (probably because he's fought more frequently and RDA lost to Khabib recently).

They use different rankings though, in your books Pettis is nr 1, but in UFC he is the champion and the number 1 is Bendo (guess they go by contenders). I think UFC ranking is alright, except I would switch places between Cerrone and RDA. RDA beat Cerrone and he's only lost to top fighter Khabib who is ranked above him anyway in his recent outings. Though Cerrone has faced tougher competition than RDA so he's got that going for him in why he may be better ranked.

Alvarez will have to fight at least 2 more times after Cerrone imo to get a shot at the belt. Everyone in front of him has a better claim to contendership imo, especially if Pettis loses, he's only like 1-2 fights away from a title shot again (Melendez only had to fight Sanchez, fighter outside top 10/15) to get another titleshot), and Benson has a nice record to back up his claim.

My guess is that if Alvarez beats Cerrone, he'll get to face Benson. And just in time after Melendez/Pettis fights, Khabib will probably be ready to go. I can see another titleshot on the line at lightweight somwhere around March. By that time we should have a clear nr 1 contender.

I'd be fine with alverez getting a title shot if he wins.

Always liked when ufc bought strike force, pride and WEC and made champion vs champion matches for the ufc belt. Not quite the same here, but just as easy to sell.

Think Cerrone wins though.

I think I like Cerrone here as well.

Got 2u on Bader at -153 for this weekend's card, Pearson +120 looks tempting too but haven't fired yet, Trujillo has more power but Pearson has the better technique imo as he was able to go the distance with Barboza in a relatively even striking exchange. That said, i've been wrong a lot lately, so might just stick to Bader.

I like Makovsky but not at the price, and despite his chin being gone I can't see Maynard losing to Camoes. McMann should win too, Ronda made her look bad but Ronda makes everyone look bad. Tempted to fire a Maynard/Mcmann parlay as well at what I imagine would be something like -120

Along with my 2u Bader -153, I added 2u McMann -235 and 2u Maynard -235 plus 0.1u sweat bets on Boetsch +210 and Makovsky -247

Would be very surprised if I don't get at least 2/3 of Bader, McMann and Maynard

Apologies, mixed up the dates of the cards, UFC 176 was this weekend and got cancelled, probably because Jose Aldo didn't want drug tests, but the bets I made are for the Bader/St.Preux card which is the next one

I got the pinnacle opener on Tavares at -230 I think he is better then Boetsch everywhere and he's a fighter thats constantly been improving fight after fight. I think Boetsch is just fighting for a paycheck. They are both at different ends of their careers with Boetsch being past his prime on the tail end of his career whilst Tavares is coming into his. If Tavares didn't have a good chin then I be a bit more tentative but I think he wins this fight 75-80% of the time.

I can't believe Boetsch has a win over Okami and Lombard.

Gonna take Jack May at +165.

He is just the better fighter. Very good striking, Has nice TDD, Good at getting back up to his feet, and has lots of power. Jordan is very hittable, his striking is no where near the same level, his takedowns are worst than May's TDD, and he is way to hesitant.

May's gas tank is a HUGE issue here, but as a dog I have to take him. See him handing Jordan is third KO loss in a row.

Added 1u Pearson +114 since he seems to be getting bet in a lot so may as well lock it in now and I think he's more like -125 vs Trujillo (Trujillo's more likely to finish but I like Pearson a lot if it goes the distance)

So excited for Jones/Cormier. This is a legit match, we had the same build up (except for the brawl) when Rashad/Rampage challenged but both of them were good stylistic matchups for Jones and not at the same level as DC.

DC vs Jones is a scary fight. I honestly don't know who is going to get the W. Champ is going to pull the win if goes to decision? hard to predict what will happen. Cormier is a beast in his own right. Going to favor with the champ, but I'll bet on underdog.

Dillashaw vs Barao is going to be a decent rematch despite what a lot of people are saying. I put a bet on TJ at -145.

Well he made Cormier look like a bit of a pussy today.

Jones is going to knock out Cormier on the night, Cormier is a great fighter but he is nowhere as big a threat to Jones as people make out. Jones will stay on his feet, keep Cormier within range and pick him apart with kicks to the front and side of his knees, jabs and elbows.

Ehh, all fanboyism aside, how did you come to that conclusion?

Because Cormier clearly tried to run away from him once he realised this was not going to be a handbags at dawn pushing and swearing contest. Jones managed to land several decent shots on Cormier who only managed a pretty poor kick when he got to his feet after Jones had been pulled off him and then he throws a shoe while he is a good distance away and there are ample security guards between them.

Pretty pussy like behavior to me.

Pretty ridiculous to make any kind of conclusion based off of a 20 second brawl. Cormier was clearly not ready for that kind of retaliation, and was getting off a stage the time. Not to mention there were 15+ people attempting to break them up.

Will go really big on Ross in this fight if it is evens. Maynard's chin is done, Ross has decent TDD. Thought Trujilio would beat Ross, but at this point in Maynards career I see him losing to anyone with power/TDD.
