Jones... wow what a disgrace. I never liked him from the beginning as a person and DC is 100% right that the guy's a total fake in that he answers questions to the media like he's some good old boy yet he meant to DC that he'd shoot him, and not fight him as in the killing part. I like DC as a person and he should be proud that he can't talk smack because a man of his ability shouldn't have to stoop to that level for his ability to fight and control opponents should do all the talking that's needed.

If DC's PPV numbers aren't high enough that's an indication that their aren't enough MMA fans and falls on the UFC to work harder. If they need their fighters to debase themselves to get non fans to tune in then they should go 100% WWE and throw in a few fixes/awesome comebacks as well to make it more interesting.

Another thing that pisses me off is Goldberg always calling Jones' deliberate kicks to the knee caps "oblique kicks". He should just call it what it is... Jones is trying to time his opponents incoming step to stomp down on his knee cap in an attempt to snap his leg. These are dangerous kicks that were illegal in TKO/UCC yet that organization allowed head kicks/stomps and knee's to grounded opponents. Google Igor Vochanchon taking one of these in K-1 to see the danger in it.

I've got no problem with his kicks.

Punches are aimed to knock a person unconscious and cause brain trauma. Joint locks are meant to break joint. His kicks are meant to snap your leg... oh well.

It is a fight, your goal is to hurt your opponent severely enough that he can not continue to fight. These kicks accomplish that goal, and they are 100% legal. What is the problem?

Groin shots and throat shots do damage to but those are outlawed.

Kicks to the kneecaps can really hurt a guys career long term or even finish a guys career. If they are going to allow it I don't know why the commentators just don't call it for what it is. Why are they embarrassed by it?

Well it is an oblique kick.. Not sure what else they should call it.

Think it is a bit ridiculous to compare it to a groin/throat shots, both of which can cause serious problems outside of fighting. The oblique kick is an actual technique that has been around for a long time. Also it isn't just used for the purpose of breaking someones leg, It is great for screwing up an opponents timing and maintaining distance quickly and effectively.

I get the other side of the argument too. However If you are really that worried about the fighters knees, why are you okay with heel hooks?

I re-watched the fight twice. There's no way Barao is going to dethrone Dillashaw. I don't see it happening. TJ is likely improving and wont give Barao a shot to knock him out. My money's on TJ. Duane Ludwig's an awesome coach too. I'd like to think they've analyzed every possible scenario where Barao gets the W. I could see Barao coming in hungry and more motivated looking to knock/hurt TJ's head off, not likely though. TJ's too good.

Why do they keep feeding Akira Corosani to the wolves? I mean, he's not anywhere near Poirer or KZ ranking wise. Somehow he skyrocketed to fighting top 10 fighters from out of nowhere. He has 1 good win and that is Robbie Peralta who at best seems to be a upper top 20 ranked fighter. The only way this fight seems to make sense is because they want KZ to win so he can get back to title contention.

Is there a non-zero chance the fix is in for Chael P?

Long odds, low prize money, perfect for the organization, and Chael wouldn't mind.

Great KO in WSOF headliner tonight,

Palomino looked really good. I'll put up a video when I find one

I changed my bet last minute for the main event Palo vs Gonz. Worst decision of my life. Followed suit with the majority vote and lost on Gonzalez.

Good overall WSOF card, lots of action.

Jon Jones is out of UFC 178, I'm told, and the fight will be moved to Jan. 3 show.

That sucks, oh well everyone can get patched up at least till then. I suppose Cormier will have his surgery as well. This mostly sucks for Gustafsson who will have to fight someone else most likely, unless he wants to wait more than 7-8 months.

I think Rumble will be the next man to wear the belt, he is the only one I see beating Jones.

I'll take Gustafsson over Rumble if anyone wants to bet in the event that the fight is made in the next 12 months
