I like that hell rell song. Seen just about all the hip hop I listen to already posted ITT. Anyone listen to Josh Martinez? Canadian rapper that has a few decent tracks. Different style than stuff you might normally listen too.

I think this is his best song:

A lot of his other stuff is kinda meh. Seems like MTV is trying to pimp him out pretty hard right now.

I doubt its the drugs, that verse doesn't seem that crazy to me. Well its crazy, but in a good, creative kind of way. I can follow most of it, and from what I've read he incorporates a lot of **** that we wouldn't understand, but someone from his community would. The dude clearly loves clothes, he name drops brands all the time, as do a lot of the Wu.

The Wu have always used tons of slang in their **** and Ghost's verses are like codes, completely littered with it. I love the Wu, but hate Ghost and cannot understand any of it. It's gibberish to me and I've never enjoyed it. Even with his slang, he's not really saying anything (to me at least).

I just found this thread & I wanted to say thanks for the link. Listening to 1992 right now. I'm just like OP, I don't really listen to Hip-Hop anymore, unless it's the Old school station on Sirius. Since I only have Sirius in my car, now I can get my Rakim, EPMD Das EFX fix in the house.

to follow up my last couple posts (trying to find new music) i really really liked the last papoose mixtape i downloaded, i am pretty sure it was his most recent, (could be wrong) 1st track was Bang Bang...not sure how people feel about him. i tried to download some pharoah monch and the like, but couldnt get enuff seeds or whatever to download it so ill try some of thsoe guys again. just wanted to say that i thought the papoose mixtape was tight, and curious if it is considered good or meh/bad/terrible by most. Cuz i have no idea what everyone else thinks about most rappers

Papoose is your average mediocre mixtape rapper.

Hate Papoose's delivery/flow, but he's got some good lyrics. I'd rate him 5.5/10.

Just remember just because you listen to some studio gangster rapper it doesn't change the fact you're prob from the burbs and wouldn't know a goon unless he jacked your wallet.

Why does Immortal Technique get so much love? He makes less sense than Ghostface (GF is entertaining with his nonsensical **** at least), constantly goes on about conspiracy theories and in general seems the pioneer of "I'll us big words and random history references to make me sound smart, even if they have barely any relevance and make me sound like an idiot"

People like Immortal Technique because it's cool to like Immortal Technique. He's not a great rapper by any means. He has a very basic flow, he's off beat a lot on his first album and he writes with an uneven and incredibly annoying bar structure, e.g., A/A/A/B.

His second album had much better production and was overall a better package. I like both, but Rev Vol. 2 is definitely better than Vol. 1.

Anyway, he says some cool **** and people like him because he's edgy, actually has content in his songs, etc. I think he's cool, but he's definitely not one of the greats. Diabolic (from the hidden track on Dance With The Devil) is definitely the one to watch out for.
