Well MF Doom is boring. He makes Lupe garbage? hahahahaha I used to be a Lupe hater too, but he is far from garbage. I listened to all his stuff and liked some tracks, but his verse on the Bun B CD really changed my view of him. He can go.

MF Doom is the worst and anybody who praises him knows absolutely nothing about anything. He's boring as ****, constantly has lyrics that make no sense, and has 397676767 idiot white nerds attached to his ball sack like a barnacle.

yeah i dunno he does have some wierd chic aura though i find, though his music is a little boring sometimes i agree. i think its different enough to have some value.

Yea, that pretty much sums up his whole appeal though, saying comparing him to Lupe you'll think Lupe is garbage is one of the stupidest statements I can recall in OOT hip hop threads, and that says a lot.

OT, but while I'm with those that were very let down by C3, numbers are in and it sold just over one million week one, last person to do that was 50, three years ago.

I like MF DOOM okay, but really? Like you said it is subjective, but I strongly disagree.

I had never heard of ASHer Roth, so I just checked him out - new Eminem is right. This guy is a carbon copy. I'm having trouble taking him in, he sounds very good (I like Eminem a lot FWIW) - and his content appears to be better than Eminem's at a glance (Like what, 30% of Eminem's songs are about killing Kim, and even most that aren't have some random offensive line that doesn't even fit in the song overall) - but wow, every 15 seconds I have to remind myself that I'm not listening to Eminem... it's kinda ridiculous.

He's not good at all. He sounds nothing like Em.

I don't think he's great (some of the songs are good, but there are some really bad ones there too)... but if you can't hear the Eminem in him, I don't think you have listened to him. He does the same voices, not to mention his flow is obviously heavily Eminem influenced on some songs. I also hear a tad bit of Brother Ali in a song or two.

Overall, mediocre, but I'd be interested in what he did on a real LP.

Clearly you haven't listened to the tape at all. Every single person I've sent it to think it's Em droppin an album under a fake name. I'm not saying he's good dude, he just sounds like Em. That's all. Listened to the tape again today and I just find him annoying more than anything. I don't like what he raps about.

Him being white doesn't have all that much to do with it. I listen to Fort Minor, Brother Ali, Aesop Rock - they don't sound anything like Eminem. Paul Wall (who I really don't like whatsoever) doesn't sound like Eminem. This guy sounds like Eminem. On top of that, he has stated in interviews that he is influenced by Eminem. The influence is clear in certain songs.

Pretty much. There are one or two songs where you really could confuse him, but actually listening to it makes it clear that it is not him. I liked The Lounge, other than that it was mediocre to (really) bad. A song talking about which cartoon character he wants to sleep with? WTF?
