Didn't make it thru the 1st episode and saw a bunch of bad review. Since then there are some decent reviews. I don't know, binge it and let us know. lol

The last two episodes of The Last Dance were pretty great. Not knowing how the '98 season ended beforehand made it quite exciting too.

I also learned that the last 40 seconds of the last quarter of a basketball game might as well be an eternity.

Yes, it's bloody awful. Started off ok, got bored about half way through but felt plot-committed so stuck it out till the end. Wish I hadn't.

I'm not sure what to think of you watching 8 hours of that without picking up on what "3peat" meant. Like, they very clearly, many times, referenced two separate back-to-back-to-back championship runs.

Yes, the cute chick from the inbetweeners is in it I think . Ibiza is my destination of choice so maybe I’m enjoying it more than others. Sam Grizzle has a nice part in it too.

Really liked Snowpiercer from Bong Joon-ho (Parasite). Revisited it since TNT made a new series off the same novel. Definitely worth the watch.

Separately, has anyone finished The Eddy? I'm two episodes in and on the fence on whether I want to continue.

Like 4 episodes in, yes, I've heard it but I still didn't know what it referred to. If I was American I'm sure I would though.

Was it confirmed at any point before episode 10 that the bulls actually achieved the 3peat (not a term I'd heard before but I worked out what it meant) in '98, rather than the team aiming for it before it got broken up? Like I said before there might have been times I missed certain things, and the timeline shifting did throw me a couple of times.

Or should it have been obvious that they did win it because it would have been anticlimactic if they'd ultimately failed? Genuinely don't know if I missed something really obvious.

I could've just missed it, since I obviously already knew what happened, but I don't remember them specifically spoiling the end. The entire premise of the series was following the drama of the 97-98 season from start to finish, just with a ton of flashbacks sprinkled in.

Re-watching Black Sails (Hulu, Starz), this show is such a gem. It's like a lovechild between Spartacus and Deadwood. It has a rather rough start for first time viewers, as there is a lot of groundwork to lay down. But man, it really gets going once you hit the open water. I thoroughly enjoyed the earlier episodes this time around, being more familiar with the characters and background.

Noticed a documentary series on Netflix that's either new or I just hadn't noticed before, Trial by Media, last night. The first episode about a murder that took place shortly after the killer was humiliated on The Jenny Jones Show was solid, was surprised I couldn't recall ever having heard about the incident or trial. Look forward to watching the rest.

The Darrell Hammond documentary is really, really good. I knew next to nothing about him.

Thoughts:

- Lorne comes off as a top-notch boss and human, I didn’t know he plays such a part in getting his cast members help

- what an incredibly talented man. I didn’t know he had quite that many (absolutely perfect) impressions. The Eddie Murphy really blew me away. His story of getting cast for the first time at SNL was a real treat & had me grinning from ear to ear

- I forgot how funny the Clinton impression is. Man oh man is that character good. His story of the groupie was

- thinking in color like that; is this common?

- am I right in assuming that part of the reason he is so world-class at impressions is because his brain was looking for ways to escape the trauma? Or are the two independent of each other from a psych standpoint

- I watch these things and always wonder how many people out there (me?) have childhood trauma we have no idea about. Do we know how common it is to remember it?

- highly recommend this to anyone, esp if an SNL fan or into these types of stories in general. I had a few minor quibbles - I mainly didn’t like the million shots of “the red” - but overall I was glued to the screen.

I finished 1983 this week. Polish alternate history political show. Very good but an unsatisfying end without a season 2 which doesn't look like it is going to happen.

Not Netflix but watched the last 3 seasons of homeland over the last few weeks and just finished. I need a drink. I thought they did a great job wrapping it though.
