Will place in spoilers just in case people follow the show:

Spoiler:
Looks like the team did absolutely horrible this past season (2-8 I believe), which should make for some lol TV when the new season of the show airs. Guy obviously thought he was a coaching genius. Probably why the school had no issue getting rid of him after the texts.

Pretty wacky one called Abducted in Plain Sight which is worth watching.

Also Wild Wild Country was great.

Abducted in Plain Sight actually made me angry.

Some people just shouldn't have kids.

Watched American Meme the other week and thought it was a reasonably entertaining watch. It’s about the social media celebrity culture with in-depth interviews and segments with Paris Hilton, fatjewish, kirill, and Britney from vine. The Paris segments were funny for how full of herself she is. She compares herself to Jesus multiple times and has a painting with her at the last supper in her house

I actually felt kind of happy watching that knowing that their lives will be full of sadness and depression once people forget that they exist and move on to the next trendy name.

This was an awesome doc (Ken Burns: The Vietnam War). I've seen tons of Vietnam War shows but this is on a whole other level. Loved listening to the interviews with the old NVA and Viet Cong describing the war from their perspective.

The parts about the turmoil at home in the United States was a little long winded but I think it was necessary to really give a good understanding of the atmosphere at the time.

My biggest take from the doc was how slimy politicians truly are. Even JFK came across as selfish and not so honest.

I see no downside to making students view this in order to graduate high school.

Ken Burns: The West 1996

Very informative documentary about the American old West. Full of content about Native Americans, pioneer life, and how the state's were formed. Ken Burn's knows how to present tons of info.

This doc also made me want to do a rewatch of Deadwood, Hell on Wheel's, and White Fang with my new knowledge of the West.

My favorite parts of Ken Burns: Vietnam were the interviews with the veterans and their stories of absolute terror. I thought it could have benefited a bit from talking about some of the technology and weapons, particularly helicopters since they were new to warfare and awesome machines. It wouldn't have been Ken Burns style though, he focuses on the human element and politics.

If anyone is interested, the book Chickenhawk by Robert Mason amazon details the author's experience as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. It is one of the best aviation memoirs AND one of the best Vietnam memoirs. He's a fantastic writer, not just another random vet telling cool stories.

Seconded. Dude is a master documentarian. I would be happy to watch a Ken Burns doc on probably any subject.

I love his work too but I was listening to a Stuff You Should Know podcast and they said a lot of documentarians look down on him. Is this true and why?

I watched Ken Burns' Baseball like 20 years ago or whenever it came out on PBS. All I remember is my dad getting mega rustled and screaming at the TV because he felt like it was all about the Yankees (we're from Chicago).

I watched the first 2 episodes of the vietnam war doc and I'm really impressed. It couldn't explain all that complex history any better and with a clear understanding of both sides.

Funny. I believe Ken Burns is a Red Sox fan.

It's been awhile since I last watched it, but I remember it definitely having a heavy east coast bias too. Just looking at the Wikipedia article on it now, almost every interview subject is from New York/Boston/DC, so it's no surprise they didn't come up with a lot of great anecdotes about what Pittsburgh or St. Louis were up to. Still a great watch though, especially the earlier episodes.

Nailed It is pretty great. A desert cooking contest where they get 3 average people/cooks and see if they can replicate a fancy styled desert. 30 minute show. It's very funny at times.

Bit more than halfway through Umbrella academy. Incredibly slow start, think I had to watch the first episode in 4 parts as I got so bored. Picks up around episode 4 or 5, overall good but still too slow for my liking.

Interesting. We liked the first episode and were hooked on the second. Haven't gotten farther, though, but haven't watched TV since then

Ken Burns: The Roosevelts: An Intimate History is outstanding. Peter Coyote, the narrator, won an Emmy for his work in the first episode. I learned much from this Shakespearean tale of American royalty.

Several well known authors and historians are commentators. Doris Kearns Goodwin and David McCullough just to name two. Geoffrey C. Ward, a five time Emmy award winner, is the writer. He has written or co-written 18 of these Ken Burns documentary.

Ward gives passionate description about FDR's struggle with polio. What I didn't know when viewing, was that Ward himself is a victim of polio.
