The $250 check at the end really drove home the fact that real life Pete is pretty far removed from the struggles of a new comic, and that it is going to make the show less authentic.

Michael Che's special on Netflix, "Michael Che Matters", is really damn funny. Dude reminds me of a more up tempo Hannibal Buress. The last few minutes are a bit flat, and he ends fairly abruptly, but everything else is solid.

Yeah, Lovitz is so naturally funny physically, one of the best.

Glad you enjoyed it. Give Katherine Ryan's special a try. It was also very good. There's a Christmas joke at 11 minutes that I found particularly hilarious. I've only seen bits of Amy Schumer's work, but it feels like Katherine is the comedian Amy is trying to be.

Won't be a popular choice in here I'm sure, but Russell Howard is performing like 15 minute walk from my house end of April. Gotta go, even if it's meh. Just liked him so much when he broke on to the scene. Figure I need to see him once.

Just picked up tickets to see Doug Stanhope next month at VA Beach Funny Bone. Will be my fourth comedy show. So far I've seen Jim Jefferies, Bill Burr, and Theo Von. Really hoping Tom Segura does some shows here soon.

Watched this. Great stuff. Was constantly laughing. Has a lot of charisma and clearly has some mannerisms of Chappelle.

The new Amy Schumer special already has over 1800 reviews on Netflix in 9 days.
By comparison, the 4 Bill Burr specials currently on Netflix have 1500 combined.

You have to be belligerently stupid not to recognize that the rating is being dragged down by online trolls who haven't watched it.

Schumer special was complete garbage. She has basically become her persona from trainwrecked. One note all the way.

Saw Jim Jefferies in person last week and he was good as usual. A few repeat jokes but in general killed it. He also is hilarious with hecklers. Seen his twice and both times he had great interactions with hecklers and the whole crowd was with him.

netflix ratings aren't universal fwiw. they are based on people w/ similar watching interests, etc. how much this matters on stand up stuff, no clue.

i saw him in 2005 or so in a small venue and it was pretty great, but yeah, since then blehhhhhhh. he put tickets on sale for his recent tour like 20 months in advance which really annoyed the **** out of me.
