Pfizer 2 kicking my ass. Got it yesterday around 8 am, at 4 pm couldn’t keep my eyes open. 4 am woke up with fever, chills, the whole thing. Feel like a truck hit me today.

FU Walgreen's.
Walgreens is the nut low of providers with online scheduling. I've been told, however, this works beautifully...

I just setup a Walgreen vaccine for next week using the online signup. Did you try just calling the pharmacy directly?

Walgreens scheduling couldn't have gone smoother for me. Sorry you're not having the same luck.

AZ has screwed up at almost every turn. I do agree with you that the current drama is overblown, but the vast majority of AZ’s problems have been self-inflicted.

I’m about 40 hours out from Pfizer #2 myself. I got it at 5pm Wednesday and felt a mild headache around midnight. All day yesterday I was tired and sore and mildly feverish. Woke up this morning feeling much better with just a sore arm.

Thanks FRG, I will try that.

businessdude, thank you for pointing out what I should have thought of. Didn't even occur to me to use the old tech. Grrr, I can be such a dumbass sometimes.

Still, doesn't make me hate non-deterministic software any less (when it's meant to be deterministic, not like random.org )

No, wouldn't think so. The US quibble over data was futile and the European leaders who clutched their pearls over 'blood clots' (a complete red herring because the incidence is actually below the average for the population, and there were more reported blood clots in Pfizer subjects, but they didn't go there because the Pfizer shot is US-German and not seen as 'British') have caused needless vaccine hesitancy in their populations, which will cost untold numbers of lives.

These are normal reactions in a minority of cases, they're caused by the immune system kicking in and they just last a couple of days.

The consensus seems to be that the stronger your immune system is, the more side effects you will experience from the vaccine. Makes sense.

I've always had a strong immune system. So far nothing from jab #1 and 12 hours into jab #2 and nothing. I think I got the placebo. And I probably just jinxed myself.

I agree: AZ has created many of its problems. But two wrongs don't make a right.

I got Moderna No. 1 today, which was available about 90 miles away. I had a sore arm and got really tired early in the evening, so I went to bed. Just woke up (it's now 2:42 am) and I feel fine.

I know a guy who collapsed shortly after getting the 1st AstraZeneca shot and went to the ER for like 5 hours - very rare allergic reaction apparently which was helped with with a gigantic cortisone injection.
He was feeling completely fine and back to work a few days after when he told me about it. Probably not getting the 2nd shot though

It seems like most people are down with fewer and aches after getting AZ, my fiancé will get her 1st tomorrow - fingers crossed.

About 6 weeks after getting my 2nd Biontech/Pfizer-shot I still experience the occasional day where I feel like I've been run over, several times, by a truck. I have no idea if it's from that or just general stress and whatnot.

FU Walgreen's.
Once you get to the screen where you've answered the questions and if it now says there are no appointments, leave that tab open and search from there in the future. You won't need to go through the questions again. You will get logged out and I can't remember offhand if it's better to log in through another tab or not.

As for the Walgreens site being the worst, Rite Aid only lets you search by pharmacy. So you put in a zip and then have to check the 10 pharmacies separately. Although they did seem to hold my appointment while I filled out the information, which is a lot better than Walgreens who let you select a day/time while not holding it so you may get beat out during the process. Rite Aid also opened up appointments at midnight, which is fine if you know about that, but I feel bad for people who check the site throughout the day when there only chance is for a cancelled appointment to show up.

FYI, I got my parents appointments through each of these sites, but it was ~1 month ago. The sites may have changed since then.

Pennsylvania is still in Phase 1A. The goal is for all 1A eligible people to have an appointment by the end of March. This is just an appointment, so most won't get the shot for a month. I am in 1C and haven't been happy with how slow it's been. Yesterday the governor said that he hopes to get rid of phases and fully open eligibility to everyone by 5/1. I can certainly wait another month, but then will have to deal with actually finding an appointment.

AZ as a company has had serious problems in terms of how they have handled the release of information at several key points. No one would even care about the US data if they hadn’t screwed up the first round of testing. Worse than screwing up the dosage, they provided regulators and the public with press releases that were at best misleading. With the US data squabble, they were explicitly told by the oversight board not to release the interim data because it wasn’t consistent with the follow-up data, yet they chose to do so anyway. Had they waited and done as they were advised, they would have triumphantly announced 76% efficiency and had nothing but good press. It’s shockingly stupid in the short term in terms of PR and equally foolish in the long term in terms of their relationship with regulatory bodies.

They have also been either unrealistically optimistic or intentionally deceitful about their production capacity.

I hear you NSFU, but the first part of that is simply regulators swinging their dicks around at the expense of the population.

The people who told them not to release the preliminary results were the independent data and safety review board, not the regulators. But I take your point and certainly agree that neither side comes out looking very good.

In! Scheduled for Friday morning at a King Soopers (Kroger) a few miles away, then again three weeks hence.

Just taking a break from yard work, came in and decided to hit vacciniespotter.org, which linked me through. Yay!

California opening up to 16+ on April 15. Looks like I'll need to vpn in to get an appointment but from what I've read expats living in mexico have the same eligibility so hopefully shouldn't need to prove residency when I show up

Even better is that Pfizer's trial data showed placebo and experimental treatments had the same COVID infection rate through the first 10 days of the first injection. From that point? Placebo patient infections continued their upward trend, while experimental patient infections virtually flat-lined.

The oxford vaccine is 100% useless against the South African variant, and this vaccine has by far the most recorded severe adverse advents. This vaccine should be banned. Only a complete ****ing ****** would accept this vaccine. Every single vaccine on the market is running rings around the Oxford vaccine. Even Sputnik V is better.

It is mind boggling you are furious people don't want this garbage.
