I’m 31, got my 1st Pfizer vaccine yesterday which is awesome! I’m kinda shocked 30+ can finally get it which is a great thing- think it’s a matter of time till anyone can get it honestly. I felt like **** today- working from home, I just slept for 4-5 hours vs doing work from home thing bc I felt pretty bad. Starting to feel better now.

I’m very irritated by the folks not getting the vaccine that can / the people that speak up about it. I got 4 hours off work yesterday to get vaccine and obv took it- told my boss and he said a lot of people aren’t getting it which is crazy. Do people ever wanna go back to normal? Another friend, I asked him if he’s getting the vaccine and he says not immediately, I’ll probably wait a bit. I want to ask him if he’s a f****** ****** but will not.

I just can’t handle the people that won’t get the vaccine. Sure I think Covid is a little overblown and most people aren’t going to die that get it..... but dude do it for all the other people, get the vaccine and do something positive for society. Like you are a real dickhead if you can’t get a simple vaccine that is super easy to get and free. Do people wanna keep wearing masks for the next 5 years? I don’t.

Uhhh... no. I might not get vaccinated due to cost, apathy, and/or laziness. Doesn't mean I'm ideologically against vaccines. So you can gfy.

Imagine thinking this way about everything. If you choose not to go to BLM rallies, you are anti-BLM. If you choose not to go to vegan restaurants, you are anti-vegan. It's just dumb.

I agree with all of this. A little overblown? Yes. Get the freaking perfectly safe, very effective vaccine? **** yes.

if the shots are completely effective (as vaccines are... no one gets the polio vaccine and worries about still maybe getting polio), why are people worried about whether or not others have gotten shots?

you got your shots, all the vulnerable groups have been eligible for some time to get their shots... so I don't see how it's a concern whether others have or not

if you're worried about people that haven't gotten shots transmitting something, I thought those that have gotten shots can also still transmit the covid

It's likely not a one and done shot. The antibodies appear to wear off after some time. So unless everyone gets it and kills the disease in its tracks, we will be living with it for the rest of our lives because of idiots. And it will continue to mutate as we've already seen and like the seasonal flu does.

I'm not quite getting the whole "massive surge in India" talking point yet. India is averaging about 65,000 cases per day, which is more or less the same as the US. But India has more than 4 times the US population! On a per capita basis, the US hasn't been that low since the start of the pandemic.

Tripling their seven day average for new cases in three weeks sounds like a massive surge to me.

2. Look at chart showing daily case counts
3. ???

Neighbors told me that Staples is laminating the vaccination record card for free. No idea if true, if it's only our local Staples, etc.

Finally landed a drive-thru appt for Tuesday.

First shot yesterday, Pfizer.

Sore upper arm. Somewhat tired, but woke up at 4:30 that morning and couldn't get back to sleep. Maybe some tiredness due to vaccine, not sure.

Back the 23rd to finish up.

Staples laminated mine for free, I think it is nationwide.

Saw that available 80 miles away and decided to go for it. One and done.

Hospitals/testing may not be quite as accessible in India...

yes i got it yesterday. it's only 66.3% effective protecting you from mild cases of covid. that's after two weeks. but with the JNJ vax it keeps getting more effective over time, as your body builds stronger and stronger immunity

the other vaccines are over 90% effective.

but all the vaccines are very effective protecting you from severe cases of covid.

Give it a few months to see what a roaming virus does to a 1bn population. If vaccines don't get out/don't work against variants their numbers could dwarf anything we've seen. They are the world's largest vaccine producer though, so maybe they have a shot (no pun intended)
