What's more likely to kill you: COVID or a Krispy Kreme donut every day?

Last edited by WotPeed; 03-22-2021 at 08:16 PM. Reason: P.S. I'm not saying no to free donuts

We (my city in Arkansas) have the JNJ shot available at 8am tomorrow to everyone, no restrictions.

Read an article on him that said he had tinnitus pre-covid, and it is known that covid exacerbates existing tinnitus I guess.

UPDATE:

I had the second Pfizer shot 36 hours ago. My arm is slightly more sore than after the first shot. I had a little bit of a headache for 2-3 hours (not bad) and have been a little achy. Nothing worse than the day after going to the gym

No fever, no chills. Overall, pretty much a non-event. Highly recommended.

I cleared my schedule from any physical work but could have probably done it, if need be.

Edit...I'm hoping I'm in the clear by now but will report back if anything changes.

I get my second Pfizer shot on Friday. I'm off for Cesar Chavez Day because lol public university. So I'm hoping to go hiking but nervous about getting too far from my car and getting an attack of the runs/vomits.

I have a feeling I'll be one of the people who doesn't get sick. I didn't even feel the first one. And I get sore from flu shots for a few days.

I probably just jinxed myself.

Well played. My job is to squeeze more money out of donors FWIW. Very essential.

After 40 minutes of refreshes I was able to book an appointment at a state-run POD for this afternoon! Going in cold, after a bit of a binge last night, might pick up some fast food on the way to the stadium. If I have adverse reaction, I will 100% blame this.

Serially, though, never having won the lottery (for a significant amount), I feel like I won the lottery. Almost giddy.

We were able to get my 16 year old daughter an appointment for tonight at the stadium. She'll be vaccinated before me!

Just had some nurses come round where I live and got my first dose of the AZ vaccine.

Neighbors told me that people they know have had success with vaccinespotter in finding an appointment. Apparently tries to aggregate info about availability.

When I tried, it told me there were appointments at King Soopers in south Denver, but their website said nothing available. So, not sure how good the spotter is. Probably just a lag and those appts got snapped up while I was getting on.

Daughter got dose 1 last night, I got mine this morning. I was able to schedule mine through Walgreens a few days ago(could've actually gone in same day but the times didn't work for me) and was in and out in about 20 minutes this morning, including the 15 minute wait after the shot. At the stadium it took my daughter over 2 hours last night, but with her being 16, she's got a lot less options as to where she can go. Arizona does seem to be handling the vaccine distribution pretty well.

Detroit has a brand new mass vaccination site at Ford Field and they put out word this afternoon that they had excess doses, anyone 16+ could come down. A very good sign if you ask me. They were planning to do 6,000 doses per day 7 days a week.

Yep, when a good 25% of the population doesn't want to get it, makes it easier for the rest of us. But not good for our long term output of getting behind this.

Newsom announced earlier today that everyone in CA 50+ will be eligible for a shot on 4/1 (yay) and everyone 16+ will be eligible on 4/15. I guess now the trick will be to get an appointment.

Try my turn at 5am. I had good luck with that. Don't bother with the pharmacies on my turn. Go straight to the company site instead. But sometimes the Mega Pods open up.

Ducey deciding now is the time to end restrictions and open everything back up probably isn't helping either. Sink or swim time I guess.

With new outbreaks resurging as we speak, the time for prioritizing has passed. Time to get it in as many arms as possible. I get pissed when I read the FB Vaccine Hunters group and people relate stories of being denied their shot at Walgreens, to give an example, when they arrive at the appointment because the county where they are is only allowing residents to be vaxxed, or they didn't bring enough proof of their health condition that makes them a priority, etc.
Just effing vaccinate people already.

So, yesterday's vaccine got me a bit last night. Had it around midday, then came back from a walk around 8/9pm and was feeling really cold, sore body, and feeling completely drained. Ended up in bed sweating away in a coat and hoodie, still freezing.

This morning feeling way better. Body still aches, and I'm probably v.dehydrated, but mainly back to normal. Someone told me it was good if you get ill, as it means the antibodies are definitely fighting back, still, makes me a little nervous about the next jab.

I'm once again furious at the FDA. They're fighting with AstraZeneca over whether AZ's vaccine is 76% effective or 79% effective and are delaying an EUA. **** you, FDA, 1400 people died today and 32,000 are in hospitals and you're screwing around with literally marginal efficacy data when there is no safety concern? FU FU FU FU.

Tried Walgreen's site. Put in zip, appointments available. Yay!

Log in, answer question to confirm eligibility, go to schedule...no appointments in your area.

Started over, at first got "appointments available" message again, so it's not that they filled up while I was going through their forms.

FU Walgreen's.
