I played all day with Hellmuth one day at the Legends event at the Bike and was my usual conversational self. Two days later I got on a plane to San Francisco and was seated next to Phil and he had no idea who I was. He's incredibly self-absorbed.

i've always heard that he's a super different person when cameras are off though and it's mostly an act

but for real though, that happens to me all the time, i legit don't recognize/remember faces or names very well and there's a bunch of people who think i'm an arrogant douche for pretending not to know/recognize them - when confronted i'd point out "oh know i remember you, we spoke about dinosaurs" then it only reinforces in their minds that I'm just a douche who clearly did remember them

it's even worse in asia, people from other races are well documented in being less able to tell apart people and often being the sole white boy in the office everyone knows me whereas i barely know who anyone is - in last job i literally drew a map of everyone's names and notes about them and where they sat in the office, had to keep that super secret hidden because it would have been so embarassing if i were caught mapping the office
