However, I also believe if he were have gone to get some play and spend some time with an escort, even a hooker, it could have boosted his morale significantly.

It certainly couldn't have hurt.

Of course, there's also the possibility that if he experienced sex but for some reason felt that the experiences were humiliating, he could have then become a serial rapist as opposed to a serial killer.

On another point of view, its really sad and tragic.

This guy suffered for a very long time and just couldnt take it anymore. All his depression and sorrow was turned inward and eventually turned into a deep-seeded uncontrollable rage. His demonic laughter also indicates that he was literally insane.
