DUCY, I've only seen used on 2+2. ORLY is an internet-wide owl based meme, very popular a few years ago and used to humourously query the validity of the post you are responding to.

A lot of this stuff originates from imageboards like 4chan.org (lolcats, rickroll, pedobear etc.). Now there are sites dedicated to memes and lolcats (icanhascheezburger).

Hi guys,

I live in australia and was wondering if we can still play for real money on poker stars. I used to play on full tilt and stopped after black friday. I just downloaded the pokerstars software and created an account but i can't see how to deposit money or view real money games. If anyone could let me know how to do this it would be much apreciated. Thanks!

Yes you can. You should be able to log on and click on the button Cashier, that then provides further options for depositing money. If you have problems you can just email Stars, their support is good and they will get back to you quickly.

Sklansky quite often asks the reader "Do you see why?" in his books. That's why it's a meme on here.

Hey everyone!!! so after being told by my friends to join 2+2 for about 6 months now, I finally took the plunge! Is this where I ask all questions and concerns I have when I am on 2+2 or is this just the beginner section for questions?

Hello Everyone!!! WoW I am overwhelmed here!

Beginner's Questions is the most forgiving area of the site. Trolling is generally not accepted here and people are happy to help new players.

Use the search function before you post, to see if you can find an answer. Most questions have been asked many, many times before - and please read the FAQ first.

This section is really for questions from new players, and other sections (see the menu on the left) might be better for something more in depth or specialist.

But feel free to post your question here if you're not sure where it should go - if it would be better answered elsewhere in the forum, someone will point you in the right direction.

Welcome to the forums!

How many times per hour should I be winning? OR what is the percentage win per hour?

I read somewhere that it is around 8-12% per hour or something like that?

This is sort of meaningless.

For a start, it would be % per hands not per hour. And the % of hands you win will completely depend on your style of play, so how many hands you are entering and also how aggressive you are during those hands.

Anyway it doesn't matter because how much you win is what's important, not how many hands you win. You could have two players and one wins lots of little pots and the other wins a few big ones, they both win the same amount so the fact that the first players wins 3x as many hands is irrelevent.

True, I never thought of it like that.

It's just that I usually win big 1-3 times per hour but I end up losing more by the end. I just needed a quantifiable means of figuring out how to win more(not lose more) by the end of the hour.

never look at the amount of hands won. It is COMPLETELY meaningless to a player. Fish think like this....don't be a fish.

Small ball players like kidpoker win lots of little pots. Win early, or go home. But the good smallball players don't EVER consider the amount of hands won per hour. Insanely bad to keep that stat.

worry more about how many big blinds you win per hundred hands. ( 2+2 posters will also harken back to the days when limit poker was king. Those players look at ptbb/100 which stands for PokerTracker big bets. A big bet (limit poker) is twice the size of a big blind.....so in a .10/.25 game, a big bet is .50)

bb/100 or ptbb/100 is the gold standard for gauging winrate

As an example, if you were playing 2NL, the blinds are 1c/2c. If you are up 20c after 100 hands, then you've made 10 big blinds. Your winrate would be 10bb/100.
Generally, we need larger sample sizes to get a sense of your average winrate, but something like 5bb/100 is good, as it means you're beating the rake and are better than the average player at the table.
If you're losing more than 10bb/100 (20c every 100 hands, $2 every 1000 hands) over a sample size of a few thousand hands, you're almost certainly doing something wrong.

Right. I don't have HEM or PT3. That is on my list of things to invest on.
