The "story" you tell, given the way you played a hand, is known as your "line." For example, say you saw someone check-calling a Ks8s4d board, and then betting when the 2s comes on the turn. Their line would generally indicate that they flopped a flush draw, then made their hand and led out (obv could mean other things, but that's a different discussion).
"Line check" is someone presenting how they played a given hand (their line), and asking other players to evaluate, or check, and weigh in with their perspective on the hand.
