Do they fold to cbets if they miss the flop? I guess if they do, hammer them with ATC and if not, pick hands that have them outkicked (so yes, tighten up).

If you're asking how to share a screenshot, simply upload it somewhere, and share the link.

I typically use photobucket.com

Upload images there, copy the link and paste it into the thread you want.

Well often it can be hard to determine this early in a session. At these stakes, it's very common to sit down at a table with 6 entirely new players with no stats. It then takes a while to see them showdown hands, take a few notes, gain a decent sample on them.

I was more asking as a default strategy. If I sit down at a table, my first BTN it's folded to me, do I open the range of hands I mentioned or should I fold until I have gained more info (as long as that may take).

It should be µnl,(for Micro No Limit) but since the "µ" character isn't a standard keystroke printed on most keyboards, people use what looks closest to it.

That's how "µ" became "u" in common usage.

How do you write µ? I mean without copy and paste.

Hi!

I am a new poker student and have some basic, maybe really stupid questions.
On the beginners faq page I have read the following about the pot odds.

Quote:
The same calculations can help you decide if you should call after all the cards are out. Instead of comparing the pot odds to the odds of making your hand you have to compare the pot odds to the odds that your hand is good.
After the 5th street card, how do I know how often (in percentage or x:y ) my hand is good.

I have another maybe dumb question about pod odds and card odds. We have odds of making improvement on one card to come and on two cards to come. I usually only use odds of improvment for one card to come, when do I even use two card to come odds ?

For example I have four cards to a flush draw. I have 9 outs. There is one player in the pot with me. There is 100 $ in the pot, he bets 40 $. My pot odds are 3.5 to 1 and my odds of making a flush with one card to come are 4: 1, since my odds of making a flush are worse than my pot odds I should fold here. But if I compare my pot odds with a chance of two cards to come, I have 1.9 to 1 chance against my 3.5 to 1 pot odds, which dictates that I should call. Hmm..now that I think of it, maybe you use 2 cards to come calculation only if the player makes an all-in 40 $ bet ? Is my thinking correct here ?

I would appreciate your answer I am new on the forums and I see lot's of great and talented people here. I am very lucky that such a place exists.

I'm not sure if I fully understand what you're asking, but if so, it's something that will come with experience. While reviewing your hands you can use an equity calculator like pokerstove for example, to figure out how often your hand is good against the range of hands you think your opponent may be holding.

If you mean before the river is dealt, you can approximate the chances of hitting your hand by learning some basic calculations (like the rule of 2 and 4, etc) or just by memorizing the odds/outs percentages. (for example, you'll learn that if you have a flush draw your chance to hit a flush on the turn is 4.22 to 1, etc.. most people just think of it as 4 to 1)

You only count odds for the next card to come, unless you are guaranteed to see the next two cards without putting any additional money in the pot. For example, if you or your opponent is going to be all in on the flop, then you know you'll be seeing the next two cards without having to face any additional bets. In that case, you can use the odds of hitting your hand with 2 cards to come.

Yes, you got it. If he's all-in, you know you won't have to face any future bets, and you can therefore count the odds with 2 cards to come.

Welcome to the forums!

Velak, thank you very much for your explanation ! So I have to study how to put people on range of hands and memorize some pokerstove calculations.

Well, not sure about the memorizing calcs thing.. but, you can certainly get a good understanding of where you expect to stand in similar situations that pop up all the time.

Wow, thanks. Will read on that. Currently I'm really struggling playing micro limits, I just dont know how to make a big move up. I started with 1$, moved to 17 $, then back to 10$, then to 6$, then back to 17 $ and so on...just don't know how to play on those micro limits, are there any guides ? Todaj I will install PT4 and see if I can post my stats here, so we can find the bigger leaks I've got.

You might want to familiarize yourself with the button and the "preview post" button.

You can do all your testing before you ever submit anything.
