Definitely MUBSY-ness. Most of the taxes I prepared last year were super simple and could have been done at tax slayer online for a ton less money.... but people are so afraid that they'll do something wrong, they would rather pay the couple hundred (or have the couple hundred taken from their refunds) to have someone like myself do it.

I think part of it is that they think they'll get their money quicker... which in some cases is true.. but for most it takes 1-2 weeks, which is about the amount of time it takes for me to get mine put into my checking account.... and they pay bank fees up the ass.

What does my head in at tax time is living in one state and working in another. Turbo tax (or whatever it was I used the last few years) makes you pay twice for the State software, and then it doesn't even do it properly
