Yeah.. I don't plan on doing much/any of that. My 2+2 obsession a few times a day, email once or twice.. facebook/twitter like once per week.. and that would be it.


Also, I'm pretty much only at school and at home.. both of which have wifi.. so that would limit my usage even more.

so i pretty much just started dating this girl...we started talking as "more than friends" and went out for the first time less than two weeks ago. then out of nowhere my ex who dumped me on the night before my birthday (28 June) last year sends me this message on facebook (we are not facebook friends fwiw):

Hey! So I know this is random, and if you don't want to talk to me I completely understand. But I was thinking about you the other day and just wondering how you are doing...I hope everything is going great "

I literally have not talked to her at all since the night she broke up with me, and maybe only 2 or 3 texts arranging for her to drop some of my stuff off at my apartment the week after. kinda confused on how to proceed with this especially considering the fact that i just started dating another girl. i DO want to reply, just not sure with what...

tell her ur dating some1 else atm and just hope she doesnt dump u before ur next birthday

lolol i think i will go with this:

"hey, im doing pretty well. I just started dating someone but my birthday is coming up so...well, you know how it is. ill give you a call around june 29th and we go chill, sound good?"

Tell her you are now a GNFOS and your life mission is to terminate females imo.

and replying is always good...you gotta have options man. she banged good so welcoming her back into the stable is my standard play here. just unsure of how to work it, plus im not gonna mess around w another girl while im dating someone, so it makes it tough to reply if she is indeed sending this looking to hook up or something

she probably knows that your going out with this new girl somehow...either feels jelous or is in a wierd way marking her territory (nat geo FTW) happened to my mate with his ex when he got a new bird.

not to discount good advice, but there is no possible way she knows im dating someone. fact: my best friend didnt even know til last night. we have none of the same friends and are not facebook friends (i havent even posted anything about the new girl anywhere anyway)

might mention to her about getting together to play tennis or something and try to get a feel for why she sent the message

fwiw i was thinking the same as pub the timing cant be by accident lol . she might have a friend that saw u guise together somewhere and told her or even better - she reads the thread (google tboblp and see what happens :-) ) haha
also i dont quiete get what u want to gain from a reply if ur serious with the new missus it is just gonna get u in trouble at some point and u bascially give her the chance to own u again and look like an idiot

In regard to the end: I think that is a good point actually. I wouldn't get owned again in a relationship sense obv but there are other possible ways. I stand to get totally screwed on both ends if it goes wrong and don't really stand to gain much other than back up sex of current girl doesn't work out. I think this makes it -ev to reply.

With that said, I am going to make a metagame play and reply with a standard "I'm doing fine" response and see how she takes it

also timing can be co-incidental. you know the say, you wait all day for a bus then 3 arrive at once.

Whether or not new girl is a serious thing. be upfront with her. tell her like it is, say my ex sent me a message asking how i was, kinda weird. I didnt want akwardness so i replied,

or some other lame reason why you replied [i dunno your motives ldo] but being upfront does 2 things.

1. Saves your ass if it comes out in future [nothing worse than the, im not cross you replied, im cross you lied to me blah blah woman rant]
2. Sets the record for future girl interactions so you dont get any of that, who is she, what she want ****e women do.

i actually really like your advice on this fool (rapture confirmed). it is obv no big deal now but you are right in saying that if i get serious with this girl and then something comes up with the ex then the "no big deal" now becomes total ****storm. also it might be a good way to judge new girl's view on what we are by seeing how she responds to my forward honesty and the fact that i am discussing an interaction with an ex with her.

i wouldnt say we are exactly bf/gf (my test for this is imagining me introducing her as my gf and then trying to imagine how she would react...or seeing how she introduces me to people), but it's def an implied "relationship" in that we arent just casually getting together and hooking up. i.e. we have been talking alot getting to know eachother etc...

cf wins the dr. phil session with tbob. Getting a preview of where things are headed with current girl.. and possibly getting some preview of the level of crazy she may have.... is a good thing to know early on.

She probably just got dumped. Wants to feel bangable and wanted, you were the last guy before whoever it was that just shat on her that made her feel like this. She probably doesnt even want anything for real to happen apart from boosting her ego.

CF's advice on handling current girl is perfect IMO, need to be clear to new girl that you replied to say that you were happily seeing someone else now..

I don't think any man will ever truly undertsand how competitive a woman can be! So just give a real, brief, off the cuff reply saying its nice to finally hear from her, you hope everythings going well for her and she's happy in her new life, and then just explain you just started seeing this great girl, and really enjoying the "honeymoon period" (bleugh!) how awesome life is for you right now, and you're thinking of buying a snake!

Even if you don't want anything with ex it'll be a nice ego boost when she comes back fishing for more info on hotness of new chick!
