h2 is really terrible indeed. People kept raising cbets until i hit my breaking point and started to think that everyone was raising light. Need to stop cbetting low dry flops and save some cash by not getting c/r'd.
h4 should have raised river. Raising flop would have been super strong. 4 was kind of a bad card, i thought that it will be split if the money goes in.

completely agree with what you said, but from what I have seen a standard player isn't 3betting a wider than KK+ vs UTG very often.(that's at 25 and 50nl so might be different at higher) If we are in MP or CO(or like you said villain is pretty aggro) I think 55 is a clear fold.

It's obviously nice to have reads but against an unknown( if we are a reg at a stake it probably means he is most likely a recreational player) I think flatting 55 is definitely greater than -3bb in Ev. Lets not forget we are 115bb deep.

It's not an lolbad call anyway no matter who your playing against.

Don't really agree with the bolded part, since quite a few villains are going to (x/)f to a flop cbet or (x/)f to a double barrel on those kind of boards. You just gotta figure out which villains play back at you (when they don't have a hand ofc) on those boards and which villains don't play back at you.

I must play reg tables more often...
Both against the same fish within the first 10 hands on the table.

Hey guys, off work for xmas and need another 850 VPPs to hit the next stellar reward so am going at it over the next week!

Appreciate opinions on how to deal with these guys, as this seems to be fairly common at 25nl Zoom where there's a lot of random aggression and we don't have notes or reads on villain.

The c/raise OTF and then bomb the turn should never really be for value here, so what's our line with a non-made hand like AK? 3bet flop and GII, shove over the turn raise and hope they don't show pocket 9s?

Reviewing my hands from yesterday on a fresh new day:

H1's fine if he folds QQ because that makes up a huge portion of his range. I rep a pretty narrow range though so I'm not sure it's good. The fact that he tank-called still tilts me a little bit considering I could almost be value-jamming worse given his flop check.
H2 is just a cooler. KJ makes up a decent portion of his range but he never has me crushed (i.e. higher set) and he can be doing this with smaller sets or 2P.
        H3 is fine.
H4 I'm still not sure about. I think it's a fold but it's tough with a small sample because he could be shoving draws or spazzing here, and we're getting 3-1.
H5 could be okay. I think I should give up on the river because if I bet huge I don't rep much and if I bet small he's going to lolpotodds call with the type of hands he did call with.
        H6 I should fold river.
        H7 standard.

        Edit:

Dunna, I defend a huge portion of my range against the flop raise (Ax, pairs), and call down 77 or better most of the time. Can probably fold the turn with A hi hands. I xb this flop though.
        12-22-2013 , 09:06 AM
Shoving flop just folds out worse bluffs and better calls imo, you'd need to construct your range to see what hands you are value raising on the flop and I'd imagine AK shoudl fall comfortably into our calling range.

Shoving turn might be ok because we block the NFD and KQ & AQ but I'd imagine at least some of those hands are getting 3bet pre. So you'd have to work it out. IF you think he is very bluff heavy then calling is ok as it's unlikely he's turning hands like TQ, JQ into a bluff so that Q doesn't really help his range and he might be inclined to check back the turn after picking up showdown value.

I'd be folding turn but that's because people are so value heavy here at 10nl. Run some calcs in equilab though, has a great tool for seeing your equity on the river against his range on different cards.

Checking flop is interesting, I'm not sure if it's good though. Don't think it's going to be that bad either, but I feel we're missing out on value. Dry boards just get called by all sorts of **** because we can't have anything.

Thx for the input guys (its 25nl btw MMSS).
It's the type of flop I either check or at least double barrel tbh.
With villain's stack size OTT I'm basically deciding if I wanna play for stacks here or not.
Didn't know if others at 25nl knew of tendencies of villains to cbet turn after c/r ultra dry flop or most give up their bluffs there when called?

I meant I personally would fold the turn but I play 10nl, don't know what people are like as a standard at 25nl. After speaking it through with people though turn is a fold and turning it into a bluff is pretty bad especially the more 6x you have in your range.

Yeah, I don't think I'd be raising anything at any point there really without specific reads (against a lot of bad 25NL regs you can bet/3bet all your air on that flop and print money). Maybe that's bad from a GTO perspective but I think it's probably fine in general.

Dunna what was your thought process of calling flop and folding to the bet on turn?
        12-22-2013 , 01:17 PM
Basically that a c/r on this kind of board is usually FOS and I have the nut non-made hand, and would also play overpairs this way OTF.
When he bombs turn I don't think I can call any non-made hand now but will prob be calling most overpairs like TDA said
