Why is Trump’s aggressive behavior starting to fail him? In part, Duke says, it’s because his opponents are catching onto his strategy. “In tournament poker you’ll see people that do really well for six months to a year and then disappear,” she says. “In general, those people do the exact same thing–they break convention by having this naked aggression where they’re moving all their chips without normal rhyme or reason.” Opponents initially respond one of two ways: by avoiding the player, like many of Trump’s primary rivals, who mostly ducked direct confrontation; or they try to match his aggression, like Marco Rubio did at the end of his campaign. Over time, though, players figure out a more sophisticated approach–to lie in wait until they have a great hand, then lure the aggressor into betting into them. Purposefully or not, that’s how things played out with the Khan family, who represented a bet that Trump couldn’t help but raise, despite the fact that he was clearly holding bad cards against them. “You have to figure out just the right way to punish the aggression,” Duke says.

When are they going to bring out the real candidates for President?

This is not funny anymore.

As Mark twain once said " If voting made any difference, they wouldn't let us do it"

I just saw on CNN that Andy Beal is one of Trump's economic advisor's.

I guess he is "in charge of China." Well, someone has to be, right?? http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2016...-china-n594096

Thank you, and Mark Twain, for that. This quote is one that has somehow slipped past me, and to this juncture in my life no less.

And to add some sort of content, Hilary Clinton isn't as abysmal as portrayed. Since when do we care if politicians lie?

The fix to this is abolish all political parties. That'll make the individual candidate more transparent and it'll make the voters pay more attention to who they're voting for instead of just voting like sheep along party lines.

That's a good one. I believe it was Chris Rock who said something like, "If they wanted everybody to vote, they wouldn't have the election on Tuesday."

Its starting to look like tiny hands bet heavily on Hillary the way hes trying to throw it

Eliminating freedom of association is probably not the magic fix to cure society. Getting rid of the ridiculous ballot access laws imposed by Republicans and Democrats alike to cripple their competition is an idea though.

[minor derail]If all states had laws about time off to vote (as some do), it wouldn't matter what day of the week it was.[/minor derail]

they go through alot trouble in the u.s to keep certian types from voting. this would be counter intuitive to for them.

this election has exposed for certian this time that were operating in a fraudulent system and that they dont even care to cover it up anymore.

I'm starting to think this too. Not even Trump is as stupid as he appears since the GOP convention. Not that he ever looked smart, but lately, Homer Simpson could run a better campaign.

Pretty few want to see Hilary as president. Problem is, the republicans actually managed to pull off the amazing feat of finding an opponent that is so terrible that even someone as unpopular as Hillary will get voted over him.

There may be worse examples of political parties shooting themselves in the foot throughout history, but there can't be many.

Yep, it's downright surrealistic if you take it at face value. On the other hand, if you entertain the notion that Trump is a dem mole as various pundits have suggested, it's an appalling, spectacularly brilliant play.

the republicans dont want trump either. they just want a republican puppet elected and now they realise they potentially cant puppet him to the extent they really wanted originally.

this government system is really a sad joke nowadays. the president is really just manipulated by the 2 parties agendas and there influences in the house/senate. sadly most of them are twisted by all the big money backers and hidden campaign promises they made just to get elected in the first place

what i gathered from this thread so far is that it takes annie duke 6 to 12 months to spot an aggro fish

Maybe. http://www.snopes.com/mark-twain-voting-quote/

But I want him to have said it. 'Cause that's a great quote.

Lots of CNN watchers itt.

Trump is tanking his campaign hard lately, feelsgoodman. Going to be tough for him to pull himself out of the hole he has dug for himself.
08-18-2016 , 12:19 AM
How do people still take this election seriously? Trump duped repubtards into somehow making him their nominee. Now they are stuck with him and he will lose in a landslide to crooked Hillary. Haha.

I got 1000-1 on Pence to win in November. $5 to win $5000. DUCY?
