Hot countries appear to be seeing a lot less COVID-19 spread. Macau a case in point. It will have a very hard time getting hold of Las Vegas the way things are looking.

Macau was basically in lockdown since the news from China appeared, but yes if it is like the flu it won't spread as easily in hot/low humidity weather. But heavily air conditioned spaces are generally bad for these kind of conditions.

People who are comparing this with a cold that seems wrong. It's like a superflu with some people getting fibrosis(!). For example I don't catch a serious flu for quite a few years (high fever etc) just the regular cold that catches most people every year.

If WSOP started next week, given info you have right now, would you go?

Good question. Also, the Global Poker Awards are this Friday at the ARIA Las Vegas.

UFC 248 is Saturday at T-Mobile Arena. March Madness? MLB regular season? NFL Draft in late April?

Lots of decisions to be made quickly either way.

No one is getting fibrosis from the new coronavirus:

They said on the news last night the draft is still on. Of course that could change.

Is spreading panic worse than catching corona or other viruses?

Well, I'm going to eat one of my previous posts now and just say that it's spreading in various countries near me and also it's on the west coast of the United States, seems it may be on the move quicker than anticipated.

What if Chinese gov't is spreading this intentionally with agents or something?

doesn't change anything for you if they are, the same rules apply

The conspiracy theory that this originated from a Chinese bioweapons lab is plausible but thinking the Chinese government is now purposefully trying to spread it is ludicrous because it makes no logical sense.

Why is it plausible that the Chinese are developing bio weapons that kill nearly zero healthy persons?

Coming from a bioweapons lab != bioweapon.

Lots of people think they have a medical and/or politics degree from Harvard ITT apparently. The use of the words may, might, I think, etc. are more than welcome when you make assumptions (or literally make up stories and facts for whatever reason)

I just read that Macau casinos are open and table games players must have an open seat on either side of them. I wonder if this could apply to poker also (5 handed?)

From: https://www.casino.org/news/macau-re...avirus-safety/

Macau Casino Safety Measures
The Macau Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) is responding to several complaints regarding casinos failing to enforce required health and safety precautions stemming from the COVID-19 virus outbreak.

Following a 15-day closure because of the coronavirus that was first reported in Wuhan, China, Macau’s casinos reopened last week. But they did so with numerous safety measures aimed at keeping the deadly disease from spreading in the Chinese Special Administrative Region (SAR).

Macau gamblers must remain seated and cannot place bets standing. At least one seat must be left vacant between two gamblers (applies to table games and slot machines).

Dealers must continue to wear surgical masks. Patrons are also asked to wear masks, and those who do not can be asked to leave the premises.

I plan on driving to Vegas for the WSOP and am willing to play in a bracelet event purely out of spite.

Maybe the Chinese are attempting to cull the olds and unhealthy from the population to gain favor from the Western world.

You could only have 4 handed. The dealer needs to be included.

There must be some companies out there willing to pay good money for anyone willing to contract the virus and be tested on. I'm sure there would be candidates here.
03-01-2020 , 12:50 PM
Why?
There's plenty of people with it already who are being tested on.
03-01-2020 , 01:23 PM
Do not get fooled by the funny name.
I had a vision that a few mad scientists and a few aliens
flipped a coin and said how shall we call this deadly virus to fool the people in thinking it's harmless.

Corona or tequila virus?

Well the coin landed on corona beer obviously.
