in total agreement. i was joking by suggesting this could be a color up issue. obviously the NJDGE has more than a few twitter pics and we all expect someone to be arrested soon but the longer we wait for some arrests the longer we are left to debate the only evidence we have...a few twitter pics of poker chips (which a bunch of experienced players cannot even agree on whether they are counterfeit)

I think they probably determined the perps by Friday night. It's not hard to take a database of approx 4k people's players cards (which include all that nice license data you give up when getting the card) and run those through the federal crime database. It would not be hard to narrow the list down by filtering out the players with gaming crimes, theft, robbery, etc. I guess one or more of those people made the final 27 (or which ever one was flushing chips down the toilet at Harrahs), they leak the person (we assume) who assisted on the inside, that person spills the beans when they realize they are looking at a long time in jail. Arrest warrants are issued and now we wait for more.

Counterfeit chips could have been introduced in previous events. This could have been a color up issue. They could claim they were introduced in this tournament to cover their incompetence in noticing the fakes and managing to color up correctly.

I will be curious if there emerges a player-hero from this once the arrests are made(of course Luke Edwards already gets a respectful nod). rather than a sudden epiphany on the part of the floor staff it was probably one player nailing someone in the act of cheating that uncovered the conspiracy. it was interesting listening to Matt Savage talk to Mike and Adam on latest podcast about the need of the players to police the game; truthfully we should have a lot more time and opportunity to sniff this stuff out than the staff.

What I read on here the Borgata Chips were allegedly flushed down a toilet at Harrahs.

One of the cheaters might have been staying there for the series. After the counterfeit chips were discovered they went back to their room and got rid of other counterfeit chips they had in the room as fast as they could. At least that's the only thing I can think of.

Seems to me like one of the few things we really do know is that the chips in question were counterfeit. When they find out how they were introduced, things will probably start falling into place. I guess.

Its really odd how you keep coming up with these theories and stories that puts you near the center of this whole thing then push off the conclusions for others to make...

well I would think this would be a little obvious once discovered as to who was responsible and most likely hed be a top 10 person they looked at. even without any prior knowledge his name was probably spoken 100x more than anyone elses.
