No, the good ones are very excited and we don't foresee any problems whatsoever. All you need: 9 aware players and 2 skilled dealers - what could go wrong?

At the table it's English only please.

I'm not aware that any have software set up for this already, but obv such a system could be easily created.
I agree, they should try it on an e-table (pokertek). Just put one table in the Aria and try it out. They don't have to convert the entire room like the defunct Excalibur trial.

Finding 9 players at a table who can follow one game is like hunting snipe.

Two games? lol.

I'll be following the 2 games and surfing 2p2!

+1
Meant to say something like this in 1st post. Both before and after failed trial at Excal, I had heard rumors that they were gonna put 1 or two tables @ MGM. That'd be a decent place for them too. Especially as a novelty like this, I'd think they'd stay full with curious folk and value-seekers alike.

That's an interesting 1st post. I'm gonna make a big assumption and guess that you jumped into this discussion because you have some financial interest in this game's success, or know a lot about how it will be run.

I've played a lot of live.. a lot.. and experienced thousands of dealers of all skill levels, but I can't imagine any two of them being able to fire cards simultaneously around the table without risking multiple midair collisions.

Likewise, I've played with untold thousands of live players and yet I would not bet that any 8 (?) random live players could be "aware" enough to keep everything straight (according to what little we know about this game's procedures).

Personally I don't like playing with 9 aware players. Luckily I've almost never been at a table where that is the case. Or were you being sarcastic with what could go wrong?

looks like something bob stupak would have come up with....

I hear that Andras Koroknai will be one of the players this Wednesday.

This is nothing new and has been around home games for a long time. It will work just fine after ppl get used to it

Isn't it set up to be eight handed? If any casino on the strip can pull this off in terms of overall strength of the dealers, Aria is the one for the job. That doesn't mean I can't think of a cringeworthy combination or two...

I like the idea. There shouldn't be too much confusion with properly color coded cards and chips for the different hands.

One question though: Does anyone know for sure if the table is for 8 or 9 players? Can't tell from OP's photo.

The table is set for 9 players and 2 dealers which seem like it will be crowded. I think it should be 8 handed

And for only one dealer, and only one game then maybe they're onto a winner.

It is 8-handed. Look at the picture again.
12-04-2012 , 02:12 PM
they should use a 2 color deck for one hand, 4 color deck for the other

easy game
12-04-2012 , 02:23 PM
It looks 8 handed but the side of the table you can't see seats 5. It's a 9 handed table.
12-04-2012 , 02:42 PM
pls have the dealers wear the same color vest or cloths for the color deck they are supposed to be in charge of.

Just got off the phone with Adam, the Aria Poker Room Manager.

The game is going to open up at 1 pm, Wednesday with their own players as a demo for NV Gaming Control. He expects to open it up to others around 6pm. It is on a 30 day trial for Gaming and for ironing out the kinks.

It would be cool if the colored spot on the table light up for where the action was.

Assuming it is even possible for this to run smoothly from a technical standpoint (which is unlikely), it will fail for the same reason 6 max tables have failed every time a casino has been foolish enough to try them: the recreational players won't play on them. You might see some people playing for the first few days, but once they realize they are all Internet wizards playing against each other they'll understand why it's better to just play on the regular tables.
What if...

Just what if...

Really tho, what if it wasn't only internet wizards playing? Would it work then? Optimism? Ariapoker is, at this exact moment, a poker room that's trying. Let them live!

Definitely needs a trial run where at least half the table would be considered legally intoxicated.

I can't quite tell if this is a level or not

My exact reaction when I heard about these tables in the first place.
