Listen. Maybe some common sense is needed by a few here.
be creative if your bank "does" ask where it came from.

I used the I have a foreign hosted web server and I make internet porn movies.(I really did use this). the bank has had no issues since. because internet porn is obv a respected industry. vs poker...Hmmm.

Plus I get the satisfaction of having the tellers look at me in ways that I'd only get from doing such a thing.

I read that someone else had done this and don't take credit for being the first one to try it.

I do respect the humor in this and appreciate you do not bring up gambling to your bank. However I do not think it is wise to associate these payment processors with porn either. Though most porn is legal it is still frowned upon by banks and you would be suprised how many "legit" adult accounts are shut down every year out of sheer moral concerns. Not to mention the pandora's box of issues that open up if they think you are into illegal kinds of porn.

Given you seem to be doing this moreso out of personal amusement versus protecting the processors could you at least not promote this "reason" for others to use. Trust me that I am not prude. I am just using common sense on this one. Please people use much less tame reasons such as the ones already suggested in this forum.

I understand your concerns and when I did it, initially, it was more of an amusement type thing. I guess because it worked, and it has never been questioned since ( cept the tellers like to talk with me , married dad of two ego swells), that it may work for others.

It may work for others but I was probably a bit irresponsible in mentioning it, as it may cause issues for others at less open minded banks/branches.

I am a bit embarrassed and hope all will use an idea that they are comfortable with.

Funds are already available. As long as it doesn't come back and bite me in the ass 3 weeks later because it bounced, I am one happy customer with Cake.

Requested check yesterday. They had some note that after the 17th of this year check requests woudl have to wait until a week after new years or some such.

I feel like such a tool paying their $35 "check courier" fee when Tilt sends me checks by reg mail for free.

Yeah, but Cake offers 33% rakeback compared to 27% for FT.. give and take.

It's still listed on my cashier page, but I don't know since I never use it.

I emailed them about this, they said it was just a technical problem between the 2 sites and that they would fix it. It's back up for me.

My check bounced today says they didnt have a good routing number and the currency change from canada messed it up. Do people have good luck with ATMs?

Why do people play on this site? There's like no way to move money to and from. It takes forever for them to send you a check and you have to cross your fingers that it clears. They don't offer bank wires for larger cashouts. I mean, I guess it's decent to play on if you can transfer money to another site to do your withdrawals. But I don't see why some of you guys put up with this.

So I re-deposited at an ATM in the OC and not in the middle of nowhere where they've never seen a big check, and now the money is in my account. Just gotta hope the check doesn't bounce, but it sounds like that hasn't happened w/ Cake.

FYI, got the following e-mail from Cake today. Makes sense if you re-read my past e-mails, I went to a branch unfamiliar with foreign checks so hopefully if I go to a more business-centric branch they will recognize foreign checks.

" Thank you for your email. As it is no longer a viable option for us to issue checks from a US bank, we have chosen the next best option; a US funds account at one of Canada's oldest and most respected banks. As your check is drawn from a Canadian bank, it does not have a US routing number. These are only issued by US banks. It is usually best to deposit foreign checks through a teller to avoid any confusion or misunderstanding. If you are not able to deposit this check to your Wells Fargo account, we would recommend that you attempt to deposit this check at another bank that handles foriegn funds and checks on a regular basis. If you are still not able to cash this check, we will place a stop payment on it and return the funds to your account. You may then choose an alternate method to cashout your funds."

After reading this thread, I'd like to open an account at Cake and deposit money. Should I go with Usemywallet to deposit? What's the best way to set up a real money account and to receive rake back??

i never have a problem with checks at Regions bank in Florida, US. I usually take them inside to the teller and they put a hold on the funds for a few days til it clears. They have all cleared lately tho.

I just got approved to request a check after sending all of my ID stuff, and the email they sent me said there is a minimum withdrawal of $500, and it will take 15-20 days, and in addition to the $35 fee, a possible extra fee "depending on my banks policy". does anybody use TD North (formerly commerce) bank? What was your experience like depositing once you finally got the check?

So I finally got my check accepted without a hitch, this branch recognize foreign checks. I was all ready with my "freelance marketing work for an online company" spiel but then she said "you sold something?" and I quickly replied with uh.. yeah. And done. Hopefully it goes through now.

just put the check in the atm or after hours drop and you have nothing to worry about.

I've had money simmering in Cake for like a year now hoping they'd change their cashout policy. Is this a lost cause or can I hope that someday they'll give us a way to cashout that doesn't take a $35 fee?
