I obviously don't have time to read through this massive thread, so I have a few questions for some regs in NJ.

I live in upstate NY (I think I'm 90 miles from the NJ border) and was curious if the games are worth traveling down and getting a hotel room for a night or two or five...

I'm currently a low stakes mtt grinder...but volume sucks playing on Bovada and a tiny bit on ACR ( their selection is terrible but I don't like the Merge cashouts) so I was curious about NJ. I don't think moving is an option as I live with my gf who works here.

Pre bf I was a cash game player (played a mix of 25 and 50nl) and if the games are close to as bad as 06 I could def get back into learning cash as I play poker in the evenings and have all morning/day to do whatever (aka study). Anyway, any info would be helpful and greatly appreciated!

I'm having trouble being geo located in nj on party borgata wsop and 888. The only site that I'm not have a problom with is ultimate poker. I have not had a problome until 3 days ago. I checked my wifi and I have a good connection with a few other wifis (security enabled) in my area with low signal. My thing is I have not a a ego location problome since launch day here, now it's giving me a huge headache. I call the support for wsop and they are 100% waste of space and life. I don't no why this is going on or how to fix it. It has been really cold the past few days and snowing Lot. Don't no if that can effect the signal ??? Can anyone help me?

Your IP address is not coming from NJ. Your isp may have switched it on you.

What do you mean difficulty in getting it? Are you just referring to betting the $500 in a day or is there something else?

I haven't done this yet but I want to before Jan 30. How will I know when I hit the $500 and am good to go? Is there a "ta-da you did it!" type pop up or do you have to keep track yourself?

Read the last few pages of the 888 thread and you will feel their pain lol. Basically people haven't been getting the emails you need to activate or the link is missing, or they tell them they didn't wager 500 when they really did, etc. I actually have had some good luck with it though..

The sites locate you based on your public IP address and they also take a survey of the wifi networks in your area. I think you have to have at least 3 around you including the one your connected to. You can't have any remote desktop software running in the backround. Logmein, teamviewer, gotomypc, and vnc are the most popular. Check your systray. Even if you're not connected to a remote machine, it will cause you not to connect. See where your public IP is originated from. www.whatismyip.com wil tell you. I think the info I provided is true. If I am incorrect let me know.

Any opinions on Borgatas interface? Boring? Simple? Not like Upoker or PartyPoker. They have some spunk to them. Also Borgata is very buggy. What is everyones fav site to play on?

Man, such an extended run of run bad, exasperated by tilting and in turn getting leaky as hell.

At this point I'm probably looking really fishy as well, which I usually like to represent so I get more action, but now getting zero respect on any bets and raises combined with run bad combined with tilting and leaking, yeah it's not a good look.

I would sit in hotel lobby first and see if you can be geo located from that location before you buy a room. Yes you are correct. You should be able to do that. You living about an hour and a half it should be no trouble trying this on a weekend Saturday/Sunday to see if places you might stay at will work. You will also see the sites at peak traffic times.

Traffic is ticking up a bit, Party/Borgata's traffic is constant now for 3 weeks. It's the other networks that are increasing their traffic.



So overall there are more players playing.

LOL, no "ta-da you did it" message, you just have to reach the $500 and then hope you get an email. You might, you might not. You then might get your rakeback email, you might not.

It's a great promo though - I actually like 888 the best of all the sites but they create needless customer support headaches for themselves by doing everything via email.

I'd say the numbers are ticking up slightly - but given the disappointing revenue numbers so far, and the amount of advertising the sites are running these days... the overall traffic is nothing to get excited about from the sites' perspective.

I just don't see the numbers going up a lot more than where they already are at this point - it's a tough economy and online gambling is a tough sell when finances are tight.

I think their biggest problem is that they are still working out the operational and support kinks. Hopefully they will because they have awesome promotions and decent software.
