I checked and this month there are 15 people who are on a pace that could clear this bonus in 14 days. Maybe another handful who could get there if they tried.

Is that the group they are marketing this to? Or just the few stupid enough to not realize they can't possibly clear this but deposit anyway?
it's pretty obviously this. but there will be probably 30 people who get a free $500 from this, and many who get partial bonuses from the portion they do clear. at worst you deposited 500, it sat there for a while, and you were able to withdraw it whenever you wanted. there's lots of things wrong with pp/borg, this is whatever

My point is that if they gave 60 days to clear this instead of maybe 100 people depositing $500 you might get 1000. A casual player might say, "hey I can collect this if I put in 15 hours a week"

In 14 days most players have no chance and no incentive to take advantage of this offer.

It depends on if the bonus can be cleared in the casino. If it can there will be a lot more than 30 people clearing it. I don't play there right now and this won't attract me there. I hate the current promotions right now and tournaments are terrible. We need a compact but maybe Stars will improve the market.

According to the poster, the VIP program “is probably going to be the same as before Black Friday” (which itself is mostly unchanged to what is offered today on PokerStars.com), though he cautioned that “NJ charges a 15% tax that rest of world players never paid, so the benefits might be slightly less than in the past, but still pretty good.”

I have been hearing a lot of different rumors about PT and HEM being compatible with NJ poker sites. I know PT works with Party, but just wanted to get some other perspectives on this. Anyone know other NJ sites where the software works?

Also, what is the cash game traffic on 888? I can't seem to find it on Poker Scout. I am trying to decide where the best places are to start playing in NJ!

Thanks,
Mez

No rumors. Fact for months. HEM and PT compatible with B, P, W and 8. No Go At Ultimate, and "it does not matter" at Betfair.

888 is All American NJ on Poker Scout.

All sites are solid. P and B share liquidity. W and 8 do not.

We wait for PS. That is all.

Are they closing up shop, or you have you moved all your play to the other sites?

It is kinda of sad. UP had the best/most knowledgeable Customer Support in NJ yet they had the least amount of traffic..... besides betfair. ....I guess it goes to show you that it is all about brand recognition.. Although i gave up trying to get geo located on UP once i was verified on WSOP and 888...............

I did see a UP van driving through my town last week.

Software matters too. Did UP even have synchronized tournament breaks?

A few tournaments only.

In essence this was an expensive learning experience for Ultimate.

If ever there was "good" timing, this would be it. This saves a lot of face for UFC. They didn't have to leave on their own accord, they were forced to leave by circumstances beyond their control.

Wouldn't you prefer to play some cash games first?

This is not a good thing that we lost some competition but maybe it will help consolidate the market. But maybe we will lose another site when Stars ends up coming to the market. It just shows that at the state level, many sites cannot survive.

Such a shame. As many have stated, the customer service reps were amazing, the promos were great... they never seemed to realize that their 2002 software was the problem.

Is my U Poker hoodie a collectors item now?

They were supposed to be waiting on another room to get started but unless their casino is pulling in lots of cash, expect them to leave this market. Where is the billion dollar online industry Governor?

Yeah I always thought UP's biggest downfall more than anything was their completely bare bones software. If it was up to snuff with their competitors they would've fared much better than they actually did. In any event, I wish all those who lost their jobs the best. Clearly customer service was their biggest strength and it's unfortunate their efforts ended up all for naught. Hopefully PS gives some of them a second opportunity when they arrive.
