Exactly. That's why I asked because Phil said something just like this, and then made it sound like they were only detecting interacting software.

He also made a joke that he wanted viewers to download the ACR beta so he could see which users were watching the stream.

So, Nagy says he has 300 people working for the company, with 11 of these working on player security.

When challenged about bots he says they talk a lot about bots.

He says it is very time consuming to deal with bots.

He does not say he is doing a single thing to deal with bots.

Complaints have been made about specific bots, the complaints have been ignored.

But they do lots of talking about them.

Summary: he can't really be bothered to resolve the bots problem on the site as it is too hard work for him.

Summary: only players that don't mind playing on a site where bots are left to play without any preventative action should play on ACR.

Well done Joey, very impressed, this interview confirmed everything you have been saying about the site.

But what is cool is you didn't have to rant like a lone madman to make the point, you calmly let this Nagy fellow's answers make all your points for you.

the funny thing is Phil wanted to make it clear no super users exist but IMO he made my suspicions raise even more...as before I had not ruled it out but now it just seemed classic liar talking out of something the crowd really didnt even mention

My favorite part was how these accounts from Latvia or eastern euro (where most the bots are coming from) are the victims. Phil goes on long winded speech about how he can't take their lively hood away b/c they can't play on any other sites which can't be true. When in reality these bots are in turn taking away the lively hood of other honest players on WPN. He then says they like to remain anonymous because they are in countries where they are afraid to talk about playing poker lolll. Claims when they are on the phone with them they are afraid to even talk about poker. What a load of bs, he honestly couldn't cater to these bot accounts more. People running the bots must be having a good laugh at how much of a safe haven WPN is for bots and how much of a pushover they are compared to other sites.

As expected it doesn't seem like much is going to change, either way thanks for having him on Joey.

Watching the archive of the ACR/Nagy interview right now. I'm about a half-hour into it. Nicely done so far, Joe, I appreciate that you are not at all gunshy about going after this subject, and/or pouncing on any answer (or non-answer) that seems iffy.

Funny that he was adamant about saying "I'm not AP or UB" on a couple of occasions, yet there are some striking similarities. UB had a pattern of denial, then a watchful eye (namely Trambopoline) would spot something suspicious. UB would acknowledge this, respond to it, pat themselves on the back for doing the right thing, then claim "okay, NOW we've cleaned up the problem." But then the cycle would continue.

EDIT: Good lord, the tougher the questions get, the more this guy sounds like he's talking out of his ass. Let's see if I can transcribe one segment verbatim. This is immediately after a flabbergasted Joey asks "how can we not know they're bots??" (about 50:30 mark)

"I'm... I'm... I'm... I'm with you. It's... it's... and what and what and what I'm saying is...is... is... a lot of winning players look like bots. It's... it's... it's and [long pause] I have my security department looking at them. It's... it's... the fact is... the... the original three... now... this is... this is where... this is where I come back to... I... I wish... I wish... we would have been working together a long time ago because the three bots that you sent me were immediately banned and we issued refunds. We never put out a press release. We never was we weren't trying to pat ourselves on the back. Um... it's... it's... and... and looking and... and learning from this is what we're trying to do. I will say PLO is hard. Right? PLO is way different than hold 'em and we've got a few people... we've got a few people in here that are way better than I am at PLO. I'm don't think [sic] I'm qualified to find a bot, personally, in PLO. It's... it's... we're looking... we're looking again for some of those always-or-nevers. We're looking at... and... and I hate saying what... what these things are but one of the things that uh... that we've seen is... uh... well, I don't want to... I don't want to get into... into a lot of the stats."

First of all, this is a whole lotta nothing. And most of this side of the interview sounds exactly like that reads. Secondly, it's either a fantastic impersonation of Foghorn Leghorn, or a strong indication that Nagy continually (and continuously) struggles to string together a sentence that makes sense –akin to a student who attempts to answer an essay question despite not having any clue of the answer.

Ironically, his answers might actually support a narrative of his honesty and integrity. Why? Because he's clearly lousy at BSing.

I watch acr podcast now and i want to say that Phill looks really honest and he really cares about poker, and from my pov he really want to fix things and make right moves, reminds me of Isai ( original pokerstars owner) i think phill is really passionate about poker and he really wants to make poker great again, he get my respect

Watching the Shaun Deeb podcast now. Great podcast. I have a new respect for Shaun Deeb. He doesn't beat around the bush and he calls it like he sees it. "Most poker players are scumbags." Damn right they are.

I have a Shaun Deeb story.

It was the Bahamas World Cup. I hadn't played online poker hardly at all in 2008, but b/c I was #1 PS-Mexico TLB in '07 (and the online qualifiers took place in late '08), I got a once-in-a-lifetime chance to go to the Bahamas and play teh live pokerz.

So I was SCARED TO DEATH, b/c I NEVER played live poker aside from two trips to Vegas in 2006. There was this qualifying live Turbo SNG to determine some prelim seating arrangement or something. And I got heads-up with THE WAFFLECRUSHER himself!

I mean, I hope he realized how intimidated I was to be walking among poker celebs as an actual poker player. I think I sucked out in that HU thing for seats, and then we got pwned for 9th Place and $1k prize money. But it was just an unforgettable experience for me personally.

During that trip, I received the honor of meeting Shaun's late grandmother. She was so sweet, and reminded me so much of my own grandmother who did so much for me growing up. Shaun was also as pleasant as could be. Good times.
