His outlook on poker/ thing's people say don't impact the way I feel. I'm fine with his outlook on that, and understand the state of poker today.

Would have been interesting to hear more about his plan moving forward to survive and why he moved back to Vegas, more about his life, IDK was entertaining to most people I guess but I'm not saying I disagree with him on the state of poker. I guess for me I'm not entertained by degen party stories, more interested in deeper things which was why I really enjoyed the Bill Perkins podcast. Maybe would have been interesting to explore more what led up to him checking into rehab, what he learned how it changed him, etc

But yeah, the current state of poker and his outlook on that wasn't what I was getting at. The fact it was a really shallow podcast (talking about partying stories most of the time) that went on for hours, was more or less what I was getting at with my last short post I guess.

It's good that it got so much positive feedback, I'm different though....

Did he not say that he moved back to Vegas to grind at the beginning? Im too lazy to look but pretty sure he said he was going to grind med stakes for a bit. And NOT degen it up.

thats what he said. moved to san diego with retirement bank roll. invested a bunch in real estate didnt play poker. real estate stuff didnt go well. bank roll problems.

evidently not the right games in San Diego to grind. so moved back to vegas.

vegas stripper community cheered the move <== conjecture on my part

Prob the most depressing pod to date.. Jo you looked uncomfortable most of the time and don't blame you. Good that he opened up a bit about his degeneracy but really needed to cover some more topics..btw he sounded wacked out on something did he explain why no vid, I can't remember..

Love the pod J!
Hi BetAgainst:

The quick answer is seven-card stud. In this game, the ante can be adjusted to account for the skill of the best players. Specifically, the more skilled the best players the larger the ante should be (as long as it's not too large) relative to the bet to keep the game in balance. For instance, $15-$30 stud always had a $2 ante while $75-$150 stud had a $15 ante which would be the equivalent of $15-$30 stud with a $3 ante, and the best players at $75-$150 stud were usually much better than the best players at $15-$30 stud.

Best wishes,
Mason

I find it highly ironic that you put down Viffer for the same reasons you praise Perkins... They both play poker & are on the more gambly side of the spectrum, they both thoroughly enjoy women, partying & alcohol, they also share manny mutual friends, and all in all seek experience's in life as a way of fulfilment. The key differences between the two is one essentially has a unlimited bankroll behind him and is obviously more intellectually inclined. Whilst the other is the more vulnerable, and has seen & experienced more "hardships" in life, which is why he is in the situation he is now.

viffer pod was awesome and I he does another one with you.

Quick question guys. I am looking to download these for flights / train journeys where i would have no internet and a couple of hours to kill.

What would be the best way to access them with no Internet?

PaPiiiiii.

Smart move on DFS pods. Very GTO for what I think you are trying to accomplish with your brand long term.

Along those lines one suggestion.

Smart, winning DFS players who understand more about DFS business as a whole (vs just game strat) should have slightly better long term results than those that dont (all other things being equal)

Joe Tall ( an NVG super reg) is pretty smart in all things DFS and has been for years.

Would love to see him on pod to balance the week of pod's with DFS players, with DFS from an operator, business perspective.

- How industry got to where it is?

- Where is it going?

- Who will be major industry players moving forward?

- What was up with the "shipload" of annoying commercials that temp destroyed DFS.

- As a player, how could one get into sponsorship, and other +EV relationships with sites and other industry participants.

etc etc

The Viffer pod made me feel kinda empty afterwards - yeah sure, some of the stories of complete degeneracy were funny, however his views on how the games have changed and become less fun etc etc was quite depressing. I'm pleased he made it through everything and appears to have a far more wholesome and fulfilling family life now - good for him!

Joey, I love the pod Papi, it's great to see things go from strength to strength, however I'd like to know more about some of these guys stories through the limits, who they came across en route in the mid stakes and the details of the higher limits in particular. Additional questions that interrogate the higher games would be great - Id like to know who the pro's consider the real crushers, who's winning in Bobby's room or the Aria games, how big the games play, who's playing them, are the old time pro's (Ivey, Oppenheim, Brunson, Farha, Degenyamine) still winners, how'd Robl get so damn rich etc etc...

Keep up the good work!

Uh wtf wealth?!

Dude poker is dead. There is no more easy money and or fun times in poker. It is dead. It will not come back for a long time if ever. Everyone who enjoyed the pod seemed to understand this.

Viffer himself said that his poker career is dead / boring / over. Do you think someone like viffer (don't take this as an insult) takes the time to plan out his life step by step?!

It should be really obvious that the future in poker is very bleak / depressing etc and that it is much better to tell stories about better times.

not sure how busy you are atm but you haven't had sauce or ben86 for a while. It's always nice to hear from them even though you've had a couple pods with them already. I also enjoy pods from guys who have moved on from poker and talk about their new endeavors.

Excited about the DFS pods
