My local pool team do this all the time to their opponents after a good thrashing (no female players). It does get a good rofl.

I don't mind a softy handshake, I think it shows a nicer character rather than some egotist trying to show he's such a man.

Ty KB! the good news is we both get to keep our one times for another day.

Finally got a diagnosis through. MS confirmed. Weird feeling.
03-21-2011 , 12:23 PM
Wow Gaz. That sucks ass.
03-21-2011 , 12:24 PM
Congrats Buffy and MJ.

Gaz - At least now you know. Not good news, but you can move forward knowing for sure what it is that you face. My best wishes always.
03-21-2011 , 12:26 PM
Sorry to hear.
03-21-2011 , 12:29 PM
Condolences Gaz. Like slacka said at least there's no more uncertainty (easy for us to say right?).
03-21-2011 , 12:35 PM
i feel like we all just got punched in the stomach.
03-21-2011 , 12:41 PM
Sorry to hear that, Gaz. My grandfather had MS. Luckily, quality of treatments are improving.
03-21-2011 , 12:43 PM
I'm Really Sorry Gaz, I hope everything goes as smoothly as possible throughout. Don't let it get you down to much. Enjoy your life as much as possible and focus on all the good things.

It really sucks but things could always be worse.

Would there be any interest in running an small buy in tourney with a % of the prizepool going to MS research? Gaz is a valued member of the community and I hope we can show him that.
03-21-2011 , 12:59 PM
Sorry to hear Gaz, praying and wishing things go as best as they possibly can for you from now on.
03-21-2011 , 01:20 PM
Wow Gaz, I'm really sorry to hear that. Apparently there's a ton of variability between severity and timing of attacks, disease progression life expectancy, etc. So I'm sure keeping a positive attitude helps a ton in that area. I don't know you other than on here, but everything I've seen from our interactions suggests to me you're the ideal type that will keep your chin up through this. Hang in there man, I'll be sending my thoughts out to you.

+2...we you Gaz

My Dad's best friend has dealt with MS for a longgg time now it's a nasty disease, it's all about how ya handle it. He's taken a turn for the worst he past few years, but dude still has a giant ****in smile on his face when I see him. I have no doubt you will do the same

Am I correct in saying the severity of MS can vary greatly from person to person?
03-21-2011 , 01:28 PM
Sincere thanks to all for the well wishes. Still not quite sure what to make of it tbh. Part of me is thinking that I still feel no different than I did this morning, and the other half is freaking out about potentially nasty stuff down the line. I guess it's the same with anyone who ever gets some major news like that, and as this is my first time getting a bombshell dropped I guess time will tell if I end up dealing with it well.

I'm not anticipating doing so, but apologies in advance if I get weird/pissy over the next week or two. I seriously doubt I will, but just in case I want to milk this as an excuse for being a dick.

Suzzer - you're pretty much right I think. It's almost impossible to give a prognosis because it really ranges in frequency and severity, but for now they are tentatively diagnosing a relapsing/remitting strain and not a progressive one, which on the scale of things is probably cause for some relief. I guess it's life as normal limping around and getting the occasional weird muscle twitch and waiting to see what else, if anything develops.

Gah, kind of annoyed at myself for bringing the vibe down ITT. Hopefully this will help address the balance

03-21-2011 , 01:39 PM
Really sorry to hear that Gaz. You know were all here for moral support and get as pissy as you want to imo.
03-21-2011 , 01:42 PM
Gah.

sippin said it perfectly

all the best Mike I'll be sending you positive thoughts (my version of prayer)

Lol. I stopped as I assume 100 is not sustainable by me, . But perhaps I'll do a couple more runs.

Awesome! You and Noodle ever do games together? Then you could announce it when a player careens into him out-of-control!

$25 is nowhere near enough to even consider doing that imo.
How much if I do this to Cha the next time he invites me we hang out?

Standard and a great lesson to him, imo. Obv ymmv depending on the context.

Everything Slacker posts is a brag . He lives a fun life a lot of the time.

Wow. That is tough, .

My cousin has had MS for quite a few years and it seems there is a lot of variance to it (across ppl and across each day/year/month/etc.). She had to completely restructure her life but she more or less does live the life she wants to which is super cool.

So I hope yours is manageable and you can still live the life you want to!

This obviously.

Blegh, very sorry to hear Gaz.

Gaz,

Very sorry to hear.

Hmm, apparently over 100 wpm in that game isn't that "difficult" at all (yes, I realize this probably means I type faster than almost everyone). I did 117 on another try and it made me do some separate "bot test" in which I did 101. Tbh I thought I was a 50-60wpm typist but I guess I'm wrong. It's kind of fun completely crushing 40wpm typists I get paired with, .
