if theres no online poker just find some local games against crazy gamblers gogogo
11-24-2009 , 06:48 PM
Well if there's no online poker, I may have to renegotiate based on loss of side-income when relocating..
Although Asian food and women are prolly way more +EV than online poker.

It's nice to have your mind wander over these things, when it's probably not going to happen..

even if the sites are ip banned you can use proxy servers and stuff, i wouldnt worry about it too much.

I just know that there's some ridic rules in S'pore on getting fined for spitting outside on the street, or something like that.

The most efficiently (widely available) produced solar modules reach energy payback in less than one year.

Financial payback depends on incentives and local energy costs. There are definitely cases where there would be reasonable payback (w/in warranty period and less than 1/2 the life of the modules) without any incentive.

Don't forget though that there are lots of government incentives for fossil fuels. It's not hard to find numbers on google. Federal subsidies for coal and nuclear are of a similar magnatitude PER KWH as solar. Non-renewable subsidies on an absolute scale are much bigger - and that doesn't count environmental impact or military spending and military spending and foreign/military aid to countries in oil rich areas is obviously a huge subsidy for oil. Just sayin, apples to apples, you can't just say renewables are not ready for prime time because they are subsidized.

As for what the floor prices are - I think the total package price for residential solar can still be cut in half - and now incentives constitute about half of most systems.

It's a common sentiment and people often use Gaia theory to defend it, and i think it's a load of bull.

But if that's weren't what you were saying, i take it back.
Define "Happily". Happy for us, or happy for the things that will be around afte we're gone.
Even if we do some irreversible damage to the planet wouldn't things just evolve to be better suited to the way it would be then?

Also, re names for movieman: Steve McQueen

QFT. When I was on deployment, we stopped in Singapore, and I got lost while wondering around. Had to find a way back to the ship at night and was definitely afraid I was accidentally going to break some law and get lashed. "Anyone seen an aircraft carrier around here?"

As for legality, it is a gray area. The government has prosecuted bettors who bet with illegal bookies and betting is only allowed via the official Singapore Pools. However no one has ever been prosecuted for internet gambling as far as I know.

Internet connection is usually very good here. Stars and Tilt are definitely playable in Singapore. If they are blocked in any internet cafe, it might be the cafe which blocked the site? Party Poker, no. In the past it was allowed but ever since they banned US players, they have proceeded to ban it in several countries whose legislation makes it illegal (see the party site for details)

Anyone who wants to try playing poker in Singapore or just meet up and chat, do send me a personal message

I don't know if I'd move to Singapore, but I might (hint: $$). I've lived in a lot of places in Asia and been to China (Hong Kong), Japan, Korea, Philippines, Thailand etc. Singapore always cheeped me out in an Orwellian kinda way.

also, now have AMT as a aim contact so I feel at peace with the world, but haven't added him yet...

This is the best idea anyone has ever given me. Pretty much every character I ever write from now on will be from a pre-WWI baseball player. Thank you.

30 characters. Just 30 names would be a lame poem. 30 characters is much more Stephen King like, except less I-got-hit-by-a-car-and-say-I'm-never-writing-again-and-then-write-500-more-of-the-same-book. And mine's about baseball not haunted home appliances or people in bubbles.

Thanks guys!
