Prelims will be posted early next week. We have created a very good schedule, nice variety. I will have something for you all no later than Monday evening.

We will also run satellites for a complete package to Venetian NAPT, and yes Pstars will run complete package qualifiers for NAPT @ Mohegan.

Ptseats will also be available for registration in time for this event.

Bruce.

You only get about 3 points an hour on your card playing 2/5 or 5/10, so I wouldn't rely on that. Go play blackjack or something for an hour and bet like 50 a hand and you'll be taken care of.
If you have a friend staying with you who's gambling that's a good lever: My girlfriend's a regular slots player at the Sun, she's not particularly high-action (but loses very predictably)... plays quarters and dollars and is regularly comped the room. What a gorgeous property.

Did anyone show up yesterday to play in the 2pm Guarantee ????

I called on Wednesday to see how many players they have been getting... I was told the field has been great come on down !!!!

So, I then tried to get a room... But they are sold out because of a concert.... I then call around and get one up the street $125.

I get to the Poker Room around 1230/1 oclock just to read a sign that said the Guarantee was Canceled !!!!!

Oya I was pissed !!!!! How come the person that answered the phone forget that part !!!!

So, I'm playen 2/5 a little while later and they are making annoucments that the Guarantee will be back next week ???? I do not think I will take that chance......

Great room but I guess No one knows whats going on.....

Tried out Mohegan for the first time Saturday evening and it has won me over as my new casino of choice. The poker room was smaller, the desk seemed chaotic, and the wait for chips was almost 4 minutes; but the dealers are terrific (dealt much better than those at FW) and actually had personality, which gave a relaxed feel to the room. The games also felt softer than Woods $1/$2 (less regs). I also like knowing the dealers keep their own tips and gave considerably more tonight than I tip at Foxwoods because of that. Last, but not least, the seats are AMAZING. I only play poker, so I didn't check out the other areas of the casino in any depth, but walking through to get to the poker room it seemed noticeably cleanlier, more themed, and had a better atmosphere than FW. Definitely looking forward to coming back.

^^^^^^^^

this has never been in question since they opened...compared to foxwoods it's a breath of fresh air, the only question for woods regs like myself and others is can they consistently get enough games/action going to make people leave the woods all together....

The key is in the comps....

Some creativity must be in place here to really differentiate and draw players from FW. Something that will not cost them much, but will be noticed and appreciated enough by the players to have them talking.

I know I am being Captain Obvious here and I know that poker is not a big money maker per sg.ft of casino space, but I think it is an element that must be nurtured. If they can draw in FW regs as well as draw in non-regs with promotions, then the benefits to casino financials will be seen

I propose a comp structure similar to a PSTARS player, where you may get some intial bonus upfront for beginning play (maybe first buy-in reward) and then regulars get elevated status with more play at certain levels. Some computer programmer can develop this system with computerized comp cards!

good advice but 5/10 is 4 points / hour - I am a reg

Due to the changes from the SATS and such us my guess why they canceled. Don't EVER speak to (or expect a real answer) from the person that picks up the phone in any poker room especially at MS, it's usually staffed by the lowest worst paid in the poker room food chain-the front desk jockeys. It's really like asking a restuarant hostess what they put in a fancy dish. They may have never played poker before and often haven't. I recently asked them if Rick was working and they said" who"? I said Rick Landry"? They said who is that. I said your tourament director they said oh, we don't know anything about them, check at the cage. Enough said?

Howard,

I know for a fact that the tournament staff at MS is well trained by Rick and everyone knows who he is. I will say that there is a new podium clerk there and may not know him as well as the rest of the Poker Staff. May I suggest when you call the Podium to be transferred to the Tournament Area and when you speak to them...get his/her name. Rick takes pride in his tournament staff and they know his name.

Fiveman,

The 2pm this past Friday was not on a schedule because Rick is running the NAPT Sat's. This was a last minute adjustment. The 15K Guarantee will be run next week. Take the chance...it will be the NUTS !

Besides the scheduled Satellites for the NAPT, they did run a few $75 SNG's. Regular tournaments have been postponed for Sunday and Monday but will be running multi table Satellites for the NAPT. $30 @ 9AM, Step 1 $320 @1PM, $530 @ 2PM, and Step 2 $1050 @7PM.

Plus most levels of SNG's will run if 10 players will play.

I'll give it a couple of weeks to be sure..... But I did not hear any accouncements for any NAPT sat's??? I got the feeling that there was not a big enough crowd there !!! I beleive they only had 42 enteries ?

But I will say This... I have meet Rick and he is a great guy doing a great job !

I guess it all started with the person who answered the phone !!!! And I run my own business and if we gave the wrong info on the phone... I wonder how long I would be in business for?????

anyone know or have experience with their plo games and if so is it plo8 or plo high. i hoping they have a 2/5 or 5/10 running somewhat regularly or even if i ask to have it put up i hope it will catch.

also im going to assume the buy ins are 100bbs? and are they full ring meaning 10 handed. i hope not, even 9 handed would be better.

-i wonder if now with the partnership with stars they will change all their table to 9max...maybe even some 6 max. i think that would be awesome. on the 9max tables they can have the same rake. 6max figure something out, bu i still think that would be a great mix up. maybe someone can plug that innnn????? or atleast definetely for the plo games.

also...do they know yet what tournys they are actually running for the napt. and when they are. i looked on the site and theres nada. it be cool if there were some mixed game tourneys.

Had a question about a floor ruling last night that seemed incorrect to me. $1/2 NL, player A open raises to $6. Player B doesn't say a word, but he puts out his last two chips, a green and a white, in one motion. The dealer says it is a call, not a re raise since he didn't say anything and the floor agreed. Is this standard? I thought 2 chips that totalled more then double the previous raises counted as a raise. He put of $26, but was forced to just call.

Looks like a raise to $26 to me (or all-in for $26 as the case may be).

One Chip = Call (assuming prior action is out)
Two Chips = Raise

Sorry but I must disagree. As far as I know the front desk as soon as you come in the poker room has no clue. They put your name on a cash list and that's it. Ask them a question about tounaments and they will have you take a info sheet, ask someone or will have you ask someone else. When you want a job at ms this is a Starter job.The tourny podium staff is a differant story and they are the ones you need to talk to, I have been told by the front desk people the tourny has plenty of room to get there 10 mun latter to find it full, I've called them dozens of times and you should not talk to them about tourneys--I'm there slot since the room reopenned and I'm standing by e
what I wrote. Love the room, Rick and Bruce are great but the front desk people are hostesses with very limited knowledge.

Future Pro - I agree with Lattimer and coppolpb, it's a raise, all-in. Pretty standard action to me. I'm shocked the dealer didn't catch that, but dumbfounded how a floor could agree.
