Slightly off topic...

Has anyone played their Blackjack tournament? I'll be there tomorrow thru Thursday and signed up for the Wednesday at noon....Just wondering if anyone has played and how it works?

Thanks All!

Played it a few times. You get 10K in chips and play 7 hands. Cannot bet more then 2500 per hand. Seems like the winning total has been at least 30K. so 8 max bets in 7 hands. Basically just split and double like crazy and hope to get lucky.

Anyone else have their room comps for may replaced with a silly discount at each of the four FW hotels?

This month my points promos were reduced to 15 (from 20 or 25) and I was given the option to pay $39 for rooms in the Grand Pequot Tower (but was still able to book comped rooms in other hotels).

My play was 0 in January and very light in February and March, although I have been playing near daily so far in April.

Are poker rooms still offered during the summer months? And do play requirements go up if so? I had regular room offers in November/December despite little or no play in preceding months.

Any idea for how long it might take offers to recur and what level of play might be required?

All things being equal, poker players tend to see their room offers go down a bit during the summer. Your May room offers are mostly based on your Dec-Feb play. Also if by "little or no play" you mean you weren't going as much, that's fine, as it's all about your point averages when you're there, so not being there doesn't hurt that.

@tsuchira, where are you from? I believe that is another strong factor in hotel offers (without a whole lot of data to back it up).

I am from Mass. I used to only get 2 free nights sun-thurs, but in April & May I got 2 free nights sun-thurs plus a night in TT for some small amount of $ as well. The last time I went was in December, and I played 2/5 for 2 or 3 days.

I'd like to think that they give me (MA license) better hotel offers than ppl who sign up with a CT license. Again, no hard data to support it.

@Lattimer, thanks for the info. I only went a couple of times from jan-feb but my two sessions were on average ~7 hours. in dec I was there pretty regularly. hope it's seasonality.

@sam1chips, I've heard the same rumors, it sounds reasonable. I'm outside of CT but the address on my DL is still within 50 minutes of Foxwoods. Maybe people like me get cut off from room offers when the busier months hit?

Can someone tell me where to park for the poker room? Or which valet to use? Thanks.

Right in the FAQ in the first post:

Parking:

The closest garage to the poker room is the Rainmaker Garage. The closest surface lot is J Lot (also the closest parking overall). There is also the Rainmaker Valet just outside the parking garage.

Never knew skunks were indigenous to the area till I parked in J-lot

Anyone interested in playing 8/16 Holdem instead of the super tight 10/20 holdem during the high hand madness Monday April 25th?

yes and all us limit players should make an effort to get that game running regularly.
its the same number of chips as 20/40 and would serve as a better training ground than either 4/8 or the rare 10/20

FWIW my comps have been eliminated. I will wait until the
Fall after my next visit on next Sunday to see if they are reinstated.

I know trust me! I'd like for it to be a regular game also.
I'll try to be there early morning to start that list and see if it takes off better than the 10/20.
What time you think you'll be there?

Good deal, thanks. I'm heading down Sunday for a few days and am looking forward to the Mondays Madness sandwiched between 2 days of High hand frenzy. All with the bbj in play.

How do you change your strategy, if at all, during Monday Madness/High Hand Frenzy?

What time do you need to be there on Monday to get a seat? I have a free room Monday night, so I'll drive up in the AM and then play both days.

I don't change my strategy but it is probably a mistake. I also don't change strategy for the HHJ which is definitely a mistake especially now with the large pool.

Comps reinstated for the month of June to the extent that I can stay at Two Trees for $39 plus plus plus. Now, I just need to figure out how to build up my point totals. I refuse to pay cash.

Were they rescinded for something that happened, or just lack of play?

I visited Foxwoods last Friday night and went back on Saturday morning. Played a little 2-5 and 4-8 but mostly 20-40. Good room, good dealers (they don't carry on conversations with the players like at some other places....they just shut up and deal).

Waitresses are not good looking but the 20-40 action was very good and the players were very bad.

Nothing "happened". May have been a reduction of my playing time. Not really sure.

Thanks! Anyone else?

What time does it get too busy?
