Heard that only a limited amount of stores will accept points

I got an email yesterday detailing which stores accept them. What was NOT detailed was whether it was 3-to-2, 1-to-1 with marked up prices, or genuinely 1-to-1.

Thanks for all that info. Was there unusual traffic on rt 2 like the early days of Foxwoods or just business as usual?

I was there all day yesterday. When I woke up in the morning I looked out the window from my Fox Tower room and I could see straight up Rt 2 and there was absolutely no traffic at all! The dealers the day before were telling me that they have to park 8 miles away and be shuttled over for the next 10 days because they were told the place was going to be packed, and that the parking lot across from the Hilton was for overflow customer traffic! Well I was there day 1 (because my chick wanted to be there) and there was no issue what so ever not a crazy amount of people. They had a VIP soft opening on Thursday night and I saw people in suits and fancy dresses going in. I was talking to one of the employees Thursday night and she told me that I could go in if I wanted and that there were people dressed "worse than I was" in there, but she told me that all the shops weren't opened just a few. So I thought I wait until the next day. Its nice, its a niche thing. Would I go out of my way for it, absolutely not. Would the outlet change my pattern of staying at Foxwoods for a few days and then when I check out go to Mohegan for the day and do a little shopping there? Probably not. It will be good, as long as the deals are good when I'm there. Understand the deals yesterday (If you didn't have the extra coupons) were buy 1 item at regular price and the next item was 1/2 off or so. I also noticed that some of the prices were jacked up. I went to Under Armor and Sketcher for myself and there were items that I know I can get for a lot cheaper on Amazon.

I guess we'll see how it goes.

BTW, just got July rates and they suck!!!

Played yesterday for the first time in 3 months. Property was almost empty. It was borderline depressing to walk through the property.

They had trouble keeping my 4/8 game going. When it got down to 5 they drew cards to move to another 4/8 table which had 1 opening. Ten minutes later they call a new 4/8 game. I get to the table and floor says in a snarky way, "see you should have waited". They called a new game and it never went. I picked up my chips and got in the cashier's line. They called a new game for a 2nd time while I was in line; I just cashed out and went home. They're not doing themselves any favors with the bad customer service, attitudes.

Long and short, Foxwoods has become like WalMart to me, I'll never go there again. Mohegan will get my business until the Mass casinos open up.

FWIW, every poker player I have spoken to from MA have said they will never be returning after they open a poker room in MA. Though this is a very small sample size, I think FW is in deep poo poo. This combined with the slot junkies not traveling down to FW when they have slots within an hour of their homes. Plainridge opens up at the end of June. We'll see how that effects Twin Rivers, MS and FW. Thinking they're going to die a death of a thousand cuts.

See you at the MS pink chip or 6/12 game in the future.

Played yesterday for the first time in while as well. Service was fine for me and everyone was friendly. Had a great time.

I do agree about the depressing nature of the place though. Grand opening of the outlets and the place was empty. Swing and a miss on that one. It's a shame to because I do like the facilities. As much as I wouldn't want to see it this place could be in VERY serious trouble the coming years.

The Pequot and Fox Tower casinos were both busy for most of the day yesterday. The mall also had a decent amount of people in both my trips through last night. They are pretty obviously trying to keep all the foot traffic to those sections of the building

Another reason why the poker room should move. We are on an island with very little chance someone stumbles in or notices there is a poker poom

The problem they have is there is a Tanger Outlet mall in Westbrook CT that is on the way from NYC. From the North, there's two in NH which offer tax-free shopping. That's just the Tanger brand. There are other outlet malls besides Tanger in the area.

The mall is one of the things they did right IMO. It didn't cost them a dime and now they get to sit back and collect rent. I stopped into both Lids and K & M sports to look around and both stores seemed quite happy with business the first 2 days. They each have stores in the mall in Waterford, 20 min away, and were pretty convinced their Foxwoods stores will do much better then those. Obviously time will tell but I'd be willing to bet other stores are happy so far

Played 1/2 NL yesterday and today until mid afternoon. I was surprised that the room was quiet yesterday at 11 am but it picked up in the pm and evening. There was a good crowd today especially in the pm. I travel 200 mi RT from Mass. but may continue to do it even after Mass opens. Who knows if will Wynn will have poker, but I know that he won't be giving me a free room (Actually, now that I think about it, I had to pay a buck and change to stay at TT Friday night but was able to use the points).
Overall, no complaints. I just think that the poker boom may have subsided somewhat. I don't believe that Foxwoods is doing anything "wrong."

Foxwoods answer to Mohegans "FAT TUESDAY" High hand promo is to do the same promo themselves?

How original...

This doesn't surprise me. Did they announce it in the poker room today?

At least for foxwoods, the issue will be how many dealers are working that day; although it remains to be seen if they use every table.

At least Foxwoods has the ability to open more tables. It was great for Mohegan, but the cap in the number of tables cost them a bit.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS ! Just saw it on Bravo app! I was in NH playing on Tuesday (picking up the wife from Logan) and the dealers up there were talking about Mohegan's list. Let's see how many are on the list by 8am

Why would the casino want a gambler to stumble across a poker room when they have more profitable gaming options for the casino? This is why poker rooms are almost always hidden with as far a walk as possible.

If I were managing this room I would split it up between two days 6 hours each rather than one day for 12 hours. The casino benefits by having many players stay overnight and spend money elsewhere however the primary reason for the poker room is you are able to fully stock the room with dealers on both days. This is a big deal at FW with all the potential tables they could open upstairs.

At FW I would also offer primary seating for anyone holding a card greater than Wild. MS can't do this as they would be turning away too many players that the promo was designed to draw due to the lack of tables available.

The EV of this promo at Mohegan wasn't even very good... Now at Foxwoods it will be quite negligible assuming 65+ tables. Don't really understand the excitement ITT
