In the 230 bounty tournament today on the bubble everyone in the tournament except for me wanted to put in 10 dollars for the bubble person. After my objection I was called a douche bag and then they just resumed the collection and said I just wouldn't be a part of it. I asked to speak with the floor (younger tallish guy, spiked hair in front) and explained the situation, he responded "that's fine, you just won't be a part of the deal." I then said "you can't allow this, it is blatant collusion." I tried to explain it to him but he was dismissive and didn't seem to understand. I didn't really want to take it any further because I was already feeling uncomfortable with the whole situation so I just relented and contributed to the pool. I have encountered this exact situation before at foxwoods. I hate being the ******* who won't agree to these deals but I also don't like being bullied out of equity. I feel like I shouldn't even be put in that position. I also don't understand how floor people running a poker tournament can't understand the concept of collusion. Does anyone know who the most senior person is in charge of poker tournaments here? I would like to speak to them about this situation.

Such as, the tournament director? That's easy, just ask who the TD is and to speak to him... Or a shift manager?
Poker players there have the mentality of "well, we played for so many hours, why not give bubble boy at least their buy in back"
But I understand both sides.

Yeah, I never like the fact that everyone always wants to pay the bubble. I mean, if I'm short-stacked, I don't mind it, obviously, but sometimes you'll get people who will have like 4 antes left and have been folding every turn for an hour trying to sneak into the money. I don't want to reward that.

So what you're saying is that IF you're the short stack trying to squeeze into the money you'll agree to putting money for bubble (considering you might be bubble boy) but if you're deep stacked you'll disagree cause you'll make it to the money?

What about the next player after that. Should we all donate $$$$ to give him/her the BI back ?

Busted the mega, waiting since 1200 for a 1-2 table. Still a billion people in front of me. How do they not have enough dealers every time I come here? Can't wait for Massachusetts casinos to open so I can never come to this dark sh@@hole again.

It is each players prerogative to deal or not to deal. Certainly should not be called names for making that decision. The part I do not understand is how each player left paying $10 each to give the bubble person something you consider blatant collusion. Perhaps a short explanation will help me understand your collusion statement.

Because MA casinos will never be short dealers?

There's a good debate on the bubble payout subject here:

i think the issue is more players being forced into doing what the rest are doing , each has their opinion on paying the bubble but they should be entitled to a choice when the rules dictate that. Otherwise its tough luck if the players don't have a say but that doesn't make that right either, just the rules

Always prefer staying at Two Trees when I make my trips up here. Wonder if they'll ever update that safety video though. lol

I have a couple questions....

1) Are comps 1 for 1 at ALL restaurants?

2) Are there any good places to eat in Mystic? Thanks!

How long would you expect to wait for a table for a player who is willing to play LO8 5/10 or PLO(/8) 1/2 on a Sunday starting at 1 on a normal (no tournament, no holiday). I'm thinking of going down March 10 but don't want to get there at 1-1:30 and sit around for 3-4 hours and leave pissed cause I'm not going to get to play before having to drive 3 more hours.

Usually the waits are very short. Some times around shift changes or holidays/tourny's there will be issues, but almost always there is no serious wait.

Tournament area upstairs was a good idea but I hear the SNG's never run anymore because of it. They should add SNG to the electronic display of open games so players who have to wait can maybe play something upstairs during periods they might have to wait. Also would allow people to see whats available including reminding people of the bigger tournaments.
