Any idea what the Reg and Large sizes are for the draft beer? Menu doesn't say, but I would guess 16 and 24 oz.
I know it was JUST built and opened, but do we know if they’ll bring in any lower cost food options? For instance, FW has Fuddruckers, and other inexpensive options, Borgata, too. Not saying they have to put in Subway, but just curious if anyone knew of anything. I get it’s a wonderful establishment, but just curious.

I was told there's no 3rd man walking. Everyone has 30 minutes from the time they're put in the lobby. Dinner reseating has 90 minutes.

Except timed games. Timed games dealers do not change the seating/lobby status and I've seen people leave their chips for 3-4 dealers on the table. At 9-10$ every half hour those are expensive dinners!

Being an avid visitor of their Vegas properties for years and also working in the hotel business a lot of my career (know the Food and a beverage leader for their complex in Vegas) I would tell you in short no. It took them ten years to open a high end grab and go 24 hour place at encore Las Vegas and I wouldn’t say that’s cheap by the standard you are referring to. Look I’m not trying to be a jerk by repeatedly saying this but this is a luxury brand and they have zero concern about cheap food options for low value players. Maybe at some point they will change direction or come up with brand segments which would offer more flexibly but the restore and it’s outlets are cost prohibitive on purpose. They don’t want people loitering around cheap outlets and basically that kind of “vibe” at the hotel. They want people to plan to spend money on nice dinners there and basically force you to either bring a sandwich or spend 30-50 dollars on yourself on a casual meal. I can tell you that in Vegas, it works. I’m always like **** should I walk to the Venetian or cab to aria to play and hit burger lounge but then a lot of times I end up ording food at the table or eating at wazuzu and spending 50-60 bucks on lunch because I want to stay on the property and the poker room.

There already is dunks, and you can pick up a pre-made sandwich or wrap at the drug store by the main entrance. I suspect those will be the only budget options for the foreseeable future. If that gets boring, Mike's roast beef and McDonald's are a short walk... I'm actually pretty happy with those options. My only food complaint is that they advertised being vegetarian friendly and have not lived up to that.

Table 44 last night. 1/3 NL. There was a real POS at our table. Angle shooting every hand, holding up the game, harassing every dealer, threatening to beat up the guy seated next to him. I hope he got thrown out.

I didn’t stick around to see how it ended once the floor and security were called over. I decided to just leave.

Is the poker grill in direct competition with the restaurants or they're all a part of food services? I used the house phone to call down to Red 8 to try and order a noodle dish for take out and they said they don't do take out unless you order at the hostess stand. I said I was calling from the poker room and they basically implied they didn't care if I was calling from the White House or the Encore CEO's office.

I'm down to pay for some good food but they shouldn't make it so difficult.

Yes, about the guy with the McDonald's. He should've gone to his car or elevator or something and devour it.

That is not an Encore problem, that is the human race. There will always be scumbags anywhere you go in life unfortunately.

FEEDBACK: I agree that some of the restaurants should offer delivery to the poker room. Would be awesome to eat some chinese food... fork food seems to be better than finger food so the chips dont get dirty...

Even foxwoods has california pizza kitchen which delivers...

Maybe add some kind of small lounge near the poker room to eat and quickly get back into the action.

I can't stand when people eat with their hands at the table. Fork food or get up IMO. Food runners or a nearby location would be great (5th St Cafe at it's peak was the bomb at Foxwoods) but, alluding to the post earlier, Encore has no interest in catering to the folks who want these things, by design. It's a feature not a bug.

The food runners should be able to do pickup of takeout for you and all food should be fork or spoon only, definitely no fingers. In general I would've thought they would do anything to get us to stay in the seats and generate rake but I guess there are still other players and if we walk away and still have to pay time they're double winning.

You can see points and free credit (not comp dollars) on their website but it isn't easy to find. You go to the Encore Boston Harbor front page, tap the drop-down menu lines at top left, select Red Card which will bring you to your profile. Then you have to tap the drop-down menu lines at the top left, tap the < arrow at the top left and tap "Casino Account". It is the clumsiest website I've ever seen. Alternatively you can plug your card into a slot machine and see all 3 comps (when they get the poker comps to finally show up).

*********************************************

I could not get this to work... I managed to get to Casino Account and then it keeps showing zero for everything even thought I have a few points from slot/pit and a few dozen points from my poker hours.

I have brought sandwiches, fresh fruit bowls, bananas, chips, kind bars, bags of nuts, brownies, etc. I’ve never had anyone say anything about it except for annoying Chasers reg who asked me to share with him

At my table Thursday night, one guy opened up a tupperware and slowly ate some kind of kale / quinoa / superofood mix for like half an hour, then the guy next to him opened up a tupperware full of meat, like a giant chicken breast or something he gnawed at for while. Nobody said anything to either.

I honestly wouldn't have known there was a policy against outside food until I saw it in this thread

+1

Find it gross that player eat finger food at the table and I am expected to deal with their greasy DNA. Order at the table and the food is delivered elsewhere to eat. 10-15 minutes away from the table is not going to kill ya. Yesterday I had one dude order a hamburger with fries. The kid next to him got a croissant breakfast sandwich at DD and managed to dump half it on him. I ended up being the one who switched tables immediately.

I think the outside food policy is stricter to non-homemade items because yes, I too saw a lot of Tupperware and random bags of snacks. The whole touching food and chips/cards things is yes, insta-table change if I can.

It's going to be really interesting to see how their "5-star resort" format holds up over time. Afaik, this is their first non-vegas/Macau entity. In those tourist destinations they don't have to worry about local consumers. It's going to be much different here I would expect. Granted there's a lot of money in Eastern Mass, but there's still a sort of Puritan vibe here that spending a ton of $$$ on a meal is great for an anniversary, but not for your average night out. And it's not like it's in Boston on the waterfront. I'm sure that part of Everett is going to be developed like crazy, but right now, it's a dingy, industrial area.

At the 2-2 PLO tables you get to see the people who stroll into the room from the hallway. I can't help but think that for the majority of these people, new england middle aged couples coming to "take a look", there's nothing there for them. $25 mins on table games, if you can get a seat. Super expensive food and a nightclub for the kiddies. I have to think that if they had a couple rows of $10 tables and a CPK they'd be packed all the time.

I think the whole comp dollars thing is a good example. They've probably never had to deal with players wanting "points" a la Foxwoods. I wouldn't be surprised if some part of management is like "why should we give them anything? If they're playing for points we don't want them anyway".

I'm happy with the poker room and that's pretty much all i'll take part in, but if in 2-3 years we hear that MGM is buying the property, I won't be surprised.

Excellent points about Vegas and Macau mostly for tourists and big spenders which is who they are after and they never considered that the majority of their customers here in Eastern, MA would probably be local. If they're banking on consistent out of town whales then this system might eventually fail. You're right about the locals (even those with money) who claim there is nothing there for them with the mostly $50 min table games and $15+ drinks and $50+ meals. There are all the regular Foxwood/Mohegan goers who might hit the place up once a month and drop $200-5000 at pit/slots and have a meal at the buffet or an Italian/Chinese place and call it a day who don't want to frequent this place and they tell their friends the same things. I feel with poker they could never expect to fill 60-88 tables on a regular basis if not for a super consistent local grinder/action junkie.

So true about anyone asking for anything like points, meal vouchers, discounts, free rooms, etc... they are just like 'pay for it'.

5/10 is the nut low game in the room. As soon as I sat down some **** reg gave me a hard time for asking a question as simple as whether I had to post after coming from the must-move. Another hand a couple pros harassed me for my hand info after I 3! cbet and mucked when V jammed flop. Also very boys club feel. Avoid it. Don’t give those scum bags your money.

This is exactly what I heard about the 5/10. Boys club entitled wanna be big poker ballers. Where did these guys all come from? They certainly weren't at FW or Mohegan or Chasers or Twin Rivers. I see the 25/50 run occasionally and people are a lot more mature/civilized it seems from a distance but the 5/10's are quite strange.

You guys make good points about how well they will do here although I have to say, sometimes we tend to see thinks from the live low stakes poker grinders perspective and forget that this is a very wealthy area that is only continuing to grow. 4 bedroom houses on an acre are going for 1M as far west as Hokpinton - there is a lot of money around not to mention all of the college and university rich kids and their parents from Asia and everywhere else - hoping it does very well, all the other spots in New England are total ****

Thanks for the help.
I ate at Rare Steakhouse last night and had the Kite Hill Ricotta Ravioli: good, but pricey for just 5 or 6 little ravioli. They also had Gardein Vegan Meatballs as an app.

When I ate at Sinatra in Vegas this summer, they had a separate vegan menu. I asked at Sinatra here and the manager said they won't be doing that for now because this area doesn't have that many vegans compared to California and Vegas - pretty disappointing.

The worst is the poker room menu though - I think all you can get is a vegan cobb salad (they only have a regular cobb on the menu but you can specify vegan and they'll replace the eggs/meat/cheese with avocado slices). Only reasonable option at the moment is to bring your own food...
