Was talking with a friend of mine about Michigan Poker. We have more of a critical mass than just about any place other than Vegas. Yes, So Cal has a few huge rooms and its own scene, but doesn't seem to have the same sort of dynamic nor number of options. We have what I call a "Competitive Camaraderie". My theory is a Competitive Camaraderie is one of those things that results in mutual success. Sort of like The Beatles, or any number of the Poker "Mobs" from a few years ago. Just look at the interaction in this thread as an example. We should be breeding some pretty competitive players. If there is a second "Boom" I expect to see a bunch of Michigan names rise to the top.

I heard from a dealer at Electric Stick that the $250 tournament they were going to get hole cams installed and the final table would be broadcasted on tv. I'm not sure what channel or if it's 100% but this is what I was told.

Well says here 5 places pay $5500 for first with 30k starting chips and 30 minute blinds. It don't mention the hole cams like the guy said but they might not have that ready in time or dealer could of been misinformed when he was talking about it.

Didn't have a side bet in the actual tourney, but I lost $6 at Chinese poker against a young kid who got knocked out in the first round, and $5 at PLO heads up against Gambit while we were waiting for his next round to start.
