and by the way, how perfect is twitter for a poker room? you could get an up-to-date list of games and list lengths, possibly even add and remove yourself right through twitter. why doesn't any room utilize this?????????????? fabulous way to advertise your games.

when i was selling sunday mtt packages in the marketplace i would give an update at least twice an hour on the progress of every tourney as it came up, and i guarantee i was way busier than even motor city's manager.
It gets annoying to get the constant texts every sunday and tuesday from Docs.

Yes we know there's a 2-5 game going on.

I eagerly await any legislation that comes to Michigan. with our population, even intrastate we would have small sites with SUPER soft fields.
The State of Mi. has not put any set rakes on cash games in charity poker rooms. It is up to each poker room how much their rake is. My rake at my room in Burton is 10% up to $5.00. Whereas everyone else is at 10% up to $6.00. How ever they do say we must take at least 20% of tournament Rake to offset dealer cost.

So...

...Auto Show.

Traditionally my favorite time to play Poker Downtown. Deep supply of out of towners playing in the Casinos.

no, it's set by some hobo working for the state to exactly 20%.

you see, an additional charge to a tournament entry placed by the house to cover expenses is typically referred to as "rake", and that's what I was referring to.

and that type of meddling by amateurs has no place in any healthy poker economy.

Whats everyone's plans this week? Anyone going down to MC on Tuesday night? After hearing the talk about the auto show, I may be there a lot this week.

I'll probably spend most of tomorrow in Detroit, starting by grinding my beloved Greektown $5/10 LO8 then perhaps transitioning to the MC in the late afternoon to try to get in the RxR.

Welcome back, Broadway!

I have something to do tonight, but I will probably be grinding Greektown later this week. The People Mover drops all Cobo Auto Show degens there.

Gah, I don't want to get out of my routine, but I might check out greektown sometime this week. Regardless, it's probably Tuesday, Friday, Saturday for me.

Yeah, the only reason i'd even consider playing at Greektown would be a significant difference in action or (in my case) them having a game i want to play in that only goes there. They have a couple of good people on staff but the institutional culture there is one of astounding sloppiness.

I've decided that the fish are the second best part of Auto Show...

In my opinion, PLO is/will be the next big boom.

I've been telling them for over a year to spread a low limit round by round. I guess enough others have too

I wish they would skip the round by round and just spread 1/2 PLO. But this is a step in the right direction
